just wanted to let you all know that I called the docs office again today just to verify if there were any risks with taking this drug. she told me they have to put the DO NOT TAKE on the labels b/c the FDA has not approved this drug to be taken to treat a pg. She said that there are no risks and to not worry, that almost every OB out there will prescribe this to prevent recurring m/c's. stay positive and know everything will be ok! I am trying to stay positive for myself and the baby!

I was using prometrium. I have not check to see if I am pregnant. I do get a discharge. My discharge is reddish. I don't know if that is normal.

Dear JAV. The reddish discharge you are experiencing is probably from the outside color melting from the tiny pills when insterted v____ally. It is normal and harmless. I had this happen to me and thought maybe I was spotting, but it was only the suppository. If you are in doubt, call your doctor for piece of mind!

hi i m 7 weeks pregnant.last week my doc found that my progesterone level is very very low (6.3)and it should be at least above 10.so she put me on prometrium 100mg twice a day orally.but i m worried about that is this tablet going to help me to increase my level?this is our first child.so i m really excited to have this.also does the lack of progesterone going to do some birth defectes in baby?i m so worried about that.please help me if anybody have any answer.thanks and all the best to all.

I just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant and I have been taking Prometrium 200mg v____ally since the day I started ovalating, because I have had 3 miscarriages in the past year and a half. My doctor did some test and found out I had a Luteal Phase Defect. Is there anyone here that has had this same problem? Has anyone had any bad experiences with Prometrium? I am nervous that it is not going to work.

Question about Prometrium...Please help me because no one seems to know the answer to this... I started prometrium 200mg v____ally twice a day on the day after my ovulation predictor test said "positive." Did I start prometrium too soon -- did I ruin the chance of getting pregnant this month by starting too soon??

what are the chances of getting pg in the first month of using prometrium

HFS--I don't know for sure, but my dr has me start 3 days after a positive OPK. I got preg the first month on it in Nov, but miscarried in Jan. I am preg again and my dr just upped my dosage to 200mg 3x a day. My progesterone at 4 wks was 30.1 on 200mg twice a day, and then 4 days later, it dropped to 20.1, so dr upped it to 3x a day. Has anyone else seen a drop in prog on prometrium? I am nervous. Thx.

HSF - My Dr. told me to wait two days after I have a postive OPK urine test. He said to wait because if you start to use the Prometrium too soon that the progesterone can actually cause your cervical mucus to harden and that the sperm won't survive in this environment.

Linda, I also have LPD. I miscarried w/ my first while on prometrium and am 4wks preg again. I guess we just have to hope and pray it does work! From everything I've heard from my dr and read, it should work. Before I ever got preg, I had spotting a week after ovulation. That is how my LPD was diagnosed. As soon as I got on the prometrium, spotting stopped, so I have faith that it does what it is supposed to. Try not to worry, and I'll do the same --good luck!

I am currently 12 wks 4 days preg and I have been taking Prometrium orally 100mg 2x/day since 5 weeks. I will probably only be on it until 14 wks, but I am terrified about having a miscarriage when I stop taking it. I had a bad miscarriage last year and I am really scared that my hormone levels will drop really low once I stop taking it (even at 14 weeks). Is anyone out there who can rea__sure me that things will be okay? Is it common to have a m/c after stopping prometrium even at 14 wks?

I am also taking prometrium 200 mg morning and night. I'm very happily married to a wonderful man of 9 yrs and we have had two ectopic pregnancies and 3 misscarriages. We are now 12 weeks pregnant and we are so excited and thankful to the Lord....I started spotting and cramping at about 6 weeks and my Dr. put me on the meds...which he intends to keep me on until I am 34 wks. TI- I can't answer your ? for sure, but I am 5wks preg and taking 200mg of prometrium 3x a day. I am worried about the same thing you are. They say the placenta starts making the progesterone around 13 wks. My plan is to insist that my dr test my progesterone each wk, through wk 16 or so, just to make sure the progesterone levels are maintained. You can never be too careful. Good luck and try not to worry.

I also have ?'s about prometrium.. I am 5 weeks preg and will be using the P v____ally. How far up do you insert it?

i was on prometruim for 4 of my pregnancys and out of 4 of the pregnancys i have 2 beautiful girls.i would of never of been able to have children without this mecidine.We actually almost lost the 2 beautiful girls that we have now but we caught the pregnancy just in time.Its normal to feel like ur leaking it will feel like that until you go off of it and i also had alot more cramping with it and thats normal with this medicine.
