yes 4 weeks pregnate

I have been taking prometrium 200mg orally for 2 cycle now from cd 16-26. Every time I go and look for info on this medicine all that I find are things for monopausal and pre menopausal women. Any one have a good place that I can look up more info on it or facts about it? I am taking this pill to get my cycle regular I am also 23 so not looking for menopausal information IF anyone could help me I would much appreciate it!! Thanks, MIchelle

i have not used that but i have a problem. i am 14 weeks and 2 days and i have just found out that my placenta maybe covering my uterus. do you know any one who has this problem to and what happens in the end

Michelle, I am also taking this days 13-28. I was told by my dr that this is also used to clean out anything that shouldn't be there. He gave the example that its "weeding" my garden. Last month I had excrutiating pain, so bad that I went to the drs office and it was actually from this med. I was told to continue taking it though b/c it was doing its purpose...basically getting rid of something that shouldn't be there. I'm not menopausal either...but I am trying to get pregnant. So, you might be taking this for some other purpose that your dr thinks you need this for. Its obvious from this posting that this med can be used for tons of purposes! Good luck to you...!

I am currently on my 2nd IVF cycle, I didn't produce enough follicules for harvest, so my cycle was cancelled. My Dr advised me to take my trigger (HCG) shot and have timed intercourse. He also told me to start prometrium 2x a day v____ally for 2 weeks until a pregnancy test. This is the only site I found that dealt with pregnancy support with prometrium. Thanks to all of you because I was clueless. It is a little messy and I wear a panty liner. It makes me tired and a little crampy also. I will find out 7/5 if im pregnant, after that im not sure if my Dr wants me to continue prometrium. Is anyone else going thru similar cirrc_mstances? Thanks

Carla, I am going through the exact same thing. The Prometrium does not allow my period to start at all, so I have to stop taking it on day 27.

this is my first time using this i am having trouble getting pregnant, will this help me get pregnant what does it do? I am also taking femara to help. How quick will this get me pregnant?

I just started taking prometrium this Friday. I was on Chlomid and I ovulated this weekend. My Dr. wanted me to start the prometrium when I ovulated b/c of 2 past miscarriages. The prometrium is hurting my stomach, making me tiredm moody and etc. I was hoping my symptoms would let up by now. Will they?

BAM, your situation is almost exactly like mine except for the Clomid. I have not had any problems with side-effects but I worry sometimes about the safety. I am taking it v____aly which is safe for pregnancy. So far, we are still trying to get pregnant. So, we'll see. Good luck & keep me posted.

I have had 2 mc this past year. I lost one at 8weeks and one at 6weeks completly heartbroken. I am now on Prometrium by mouth once a day because i suspect i am pregnant again. I am scared to death! I am wondering why it says not to take it during pregnancy! does anyone know if it could be harmful! i just don't know what to do!

From what my dr said, taking Prometrium v____ally is safe for pregnancy but not safe orally. It also says this on the bottle itself (from the pharmacy). Please double check with your doctor and pharmacist.

I am on Prometrium 200 mg. i have to take them orally 3 times a day. I started taking the meds at 3wks and i am now 9 wks and i will take them until i am 13wks. So far so good. yes the information does say that on the medication. But i had an ultrsound just this morning and blood work done on Friday. My results from my blood work is great. My ultrasound showed my baby doing fine and me too. Everyone is not the same, but I pray that everything turn out to be a BLessing for all of you.

jlynn, don't worry about taking the pills orally. I took them orally until 14 wks and I am now 16wks and everything is still great. My doctor and pharmacist told me that the advisory label on the pills is just b/c in a normal low-risk pregnancy, the body produces progesterone on its own and your levels could get too high. If your doctor says for you to take it, then you should continue taking it as prescribed. I had the same fears, but so far so good. Don't stress b/c it isn't good for you and the baby!

I was on prometrium at 4 weeks pregnant and had a stroke. PLEASE BE CAREFUL when taking this drug.

Hi I've been trying to get pregnant for over 10 months and my dr put me on clomid this was my first month,and my period never came. I was told to take a pregnancy test(urine)and it came out neg so the dr put me on prometrium. i guess to get my period .but i have already taken this for 6 days and no sign at all. pls somebody i need advice.

Eli, Prometrium delays or stops your period. I would consult your doctor again, you may not get your period if you still take prometrium.
