Unusual Bowel Movements

I am 7 weeks pregnant and, fortunately, I have not had any sickness nor suffered with constipation. However, I have 2 bowel movements a day and they are very dark brown to black in color. Is this normal and what is causing this? I go to my 1st Doctor's visit in 3 weeks, but I would like to have an answer sooner than then.

Are you taking iron supplements? They'll make your stool very dark. If that's it then it's nothing to worry about.

Now that you're eating for two,as they say, make sure you eat a balanced diet and drink lots of water. Try to eat food that is as close to it't natural state as you can. What I mean is stay away from highly processed foods and fast foods. Make sure to eat whole grains. Whole grains have good nutrition, and help to keep the bowels healthy. Don't forget the dark green vegetables. Good luck.
