180 Hcg Level Normal At 5 Weeks???

Last Tuesday I went to Dr and took a blood test and today he says my level is 180 and I'm supposed to be 5 weeks. Dr says it's on the low side. Ultrasound showed nothing. I took another blood test for hcg and progesterone for him to compare. Is this level normal? I get mild cramps occasionally. Is this a sign of ectopic or a miscarriage? Meanwhile I'm waiting anxiously and worried for him to call with the results. Any advice? Please help!

hCG levels vary enormously from one pregnancy to another. The doubling rate is something they watch. Dr will probably suggest a repeat in a week or two to see how things are progressing.
