Hello, I have been diagnosed with Genital Herpes and I was wondering if anyone had information on what I should be cautious about when I decide to become pregnant. Thank you, Bai Leigh

This is a question best suited for your family doctor. It is very possible to have a healthy baby and a natural delivery when you have genital herpes. There is medication you can take to prevent an outbreak, plus regular checks with your doctor to make sure you aren't developing any sores. Even if you do have a breakout around delivery time, a cesarean can prevent the baby from coming into contact with the virus. Make sure you stay in touch with your doctor while you are trying to conceive and all throughout the pregnancy, as communication is your best chance at a healthy pregnancy and baby. Good luck!
