Dry Sensation In Hands Please Help

I'm 23 weeks along. For the past several weeks I've been experiencing an extremely dry sensation in my hands. My nose and lips are also dry (but not as bad). This feeling is so bothersome that it keeps me awake at night (it mainly occurs in the night time).
I am not dehydrated. I show no (other) signs of it and am constantly drinking water or juice.
My hands don't appear to be dry or cracking.
I've tried using lotion... it makes the sensation worse.
I use baby oil, but as soon as the oil dries or wears off the sensation comes back. It doesn't make the sensation go away completely even if I cover my hands with it.
I am on Zyrtec (10 mg a day) - but have researched this drug and nothing like this is listed as a side effect.
Ditto for the prenatal vitamins I'm on.
I've contacted my OB/GYN and a nurse regarding this, no one has any idea what it could be.
I developed really bad allergies when I got pregnant (itching all over, sneezing, sinus headaches daily) which is why I'm on the Zyrtec.
Anyway, I think that's everything I can tell you about it. Has anyone experienced this? Do you have any idea why it is happening? Any help would be GREAT! Thanks. =)

Google "dry skin pregnancy" to see that you are far from alone. One reference mentioned "arnica oil" as a possible help.

As I mentioned in my post, my skin isn't actually dry. It just FEELS dry (a sensation). There is no cracking or dryness on the skin itself. Also, lotion doesn't help at all (it makes it worse) and oils help very little.
Anyone else have any ideas?
