Hello Ladies: I am currently 26 weeks and am also experiencing a severe nagging pressure in my v____al area. The pain increases the more I'm on my feet--which isn't very often since I am on bed rest at home. I am not taking any chances with this pregnancy since I delivered prematurely at 24 weeks less than a year ago. My daughter was in the NICU for 3 weeks before she pa__sed and I miss her dearly. I felt the same nagging pressure during the last pregnancy and the doctors kept telling me "there was nothing to worry about" and that I could continue with my normal routine--which included work, cleaning the house, exercising and everything else...including intercourse. Now I see an ob/gyn once every two weeks and a high risk specialist every two weeks as well. I schedule my appointments so that I see a doctor at least once a week simply for peace of mind. The high risk doctor checks my cervix every week and found that I was having contractions during my last visit which is the same visit I complained the most about the v____al pressure I was experiencing. Due to my history and ultrasound results my specialist immediately put me on bed rest--just to be safe. My advice to anyone who has pressure is to bring up your concerns with your doctor, no matter how much of a nag you may see yourself being. Insist that you schedule an ultrasound that that measures your cervix, because chances are they won't do it unless you ask. My biggest regret is not being more forceful with my complaints during my last pregnancy. I really feel like I should have been on bed with my last pregancy as well or at least off of work and off my feet. Good luck to everyone out there and best wishes.

When I get up from a sitting position I am so stiff down there also. I feel like I was riding a horse for 2 hours. The inside tops of my thighs kill me. I am 37 1/2 weeks and have only gained 17 pounds so it's not from excesive weight either. I didn't have this with my last 2 pregnancies. My doctor says it is definitely pressure. Once the head becaomes engaged you get that pressure. Sometimes I feel like his head is right there.

I think just about every pregnant girl has felt this pain.Don't think it's serious. It's almost like a tiny contraction.

I HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF STABBING PAIN THAT ALOT OF YOU ARE REFFERING TO AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS CAUSING IT. I AM 37 WKS AND I THINK MY BABY IS READY TO COME OUT AT LEAST THAT'S HOW IT FEELS. I HAVEN'T TALKED TO MY DOC YET BUT I WILL IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. BUT IT'S ALMOST TO THE POINT THAT I WANT TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM JUST TO SEE IF I AM DIALATING OR IN EARLY LABOR.. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

sandra - October 11

these pains are probably bearing down pains where the baby's head is engaged in the cervix ready for birth. It is completely normal

Cachelle - October 11

I am 37 weeks and have been having pain similar to this all day. The difference is mine shoots down my legs. Is that still normal?

To Cachelle - October 11

Hey girl. Sort of sounds like you are having contractions if the pain is shooting down your legs. When I was in labor with my first I had BAD pains all down my legs.

Can someone help me? I found this, after doing a search, because here is what i'm having: When i'm walking, or when i turn over in bed, or get up from sitting....i have a soreness that i feel at the sides of the v____a, near my thighs....like at the bones. Sometimes the soreness feels like it reaches my lower back. I'm 17 weeks, and i go to see my ob, so i'm wondering what kinds of questions to ask him. Is this similar to what you're all describing? If so, any clues as to what it could be?? I'm really worried. Good thing i have an appt. tomorrow.
