I am not pregnant, but am having alot of pressure & discomfort. It's been 2 wks since this feeling started. It's happened b4, my doctor didn't find anything wrong. Although it's been over 4 years I remember this feeling when I carried my kids. I am not sure if my IUD is the cause or some other reason. What should I do?

Hi everyone... was having a little pressure at 17 weeks and was reading through some of the posts... I had a pressure feeling for many weeks during my first pregnancy (early on through mid-second tri) and I am not sure if this was the reason or not but I did have a urinary tract infection. (Can't remember if treatment took it away, sorry!) I was otherwise symptom-free. (They can be asymtomatic like this but most I've known to have them get the symptoms). Uti's are common in pregnancy and need to be treated to prevent complications. Better to catch 'em early too before they get more serious. Reason I am writing this is because some of you sound like you could possibly have one and though I thought all ob's/midwives tested routinely for them like my first, my current one does not. Good luck to all!

pain, no..but pressure yes...the pressure will get worse as the baby settles down further (around 36 weeks)..but i would ask the dr about the pain next time you see him..if there is no blood i would not worry too much about it but i would mention it

Hi I'm due today but no baby yet? I've been experiencing awful, excruciating stabbing pains like a knife cutting down my cervix, I've had it on and off for about 4 weeks, last night I cried, froze and had a hot sweat with the pain. My midwife isn't concerned and says baby is lying on a nerve, its ok saying that but my God I've never felt pain like it and I've had a 16 hr labour then a c-section and last year I had to be induced as my baby was dying of kidney failure and I had a 16 hour labour with her, I was 21 wks and of course all the mental pain which no one can imagine unless they've been through it. So ladies I sympathise, I feel so low, so in pain at times I just cry. Positive vibes to you all. xxx

Hello Ladies,
My last update on this website was on September 27th. Today I am 34 weeks 5 days pregnant and very thankful that I made it this far in the pregnancy. My due date is January 3rd; however, during my last visit my ob indicated that my cervix is softening and that I would probably start dialating sooner than later. I am writing to let you know that the stabbing pain that I experienced mostly throughout my 2nd trimester and the beginning of my 3rd trimester has ceased for the most part. My ob's explanation is that the baby's head is now positioned and thus, probably putting less pressure down there. I was really surprised that I am feeling less v____al pressure the further along my pregnancy progressed and wanted to share this information to let those of you who are concerned out there know that v____al pressure doesn't mean the worst. I did go on bed rest 3 times during this pregnancy to play it safe and don't know if the bed rest is the reason I made it this far. I simply did not want to take any chances and am glad I didn't. By the way, if you are truely concerned about going into labor, ask your doctor if you can take a fiber-nectane test. This test predicts if you are going to go into labor within the next week or two with over 99% accuracy. Most doctors can't/won't perform this test until you are at least 24 weeks. Good luck.

I just had my first kid, she is now 6 months and I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with my second kid. I also have the v____al pressure where it feels like my baby is going to just fall out! I think I am having a boy this time, this prenancy is so much diffrent than with my daughter. I carried my daughter really low too, however i didnt suffer the consequences of that till the 3rd trimester... I find out the gender of this baby this week, hopefully! Then we can see if my a__sumption is correct..
