Period During Pregnancy -pg10

This is my first pregnancy and I know my last period was 2 months ago. However, I felt my first baby movement this week (supposedly my eighth week) and they say that you shouldn't feel movement until around the 18th week with first time pregnancy. Could I have been on my period while pregnant which would mean I'm further along than I think, or is it possible to feel movement in the eighth week of a first time pregnancy?
