I have been reading the threads on this site for the last several weeks and was very happy to find this one. I am also taking unprescribed clomid with the hopes of speeding up my getting pregnant..twins would be nice too but not necessary. I am on CD 4 and taking 100 mg clomid days 3-7. So far no side effects. Congratulations to all with BFPs! I hope the rest of us will be enjoying ours soon!

greta- I hope your appt goes well! Let us know when you get back. I didn't take Clomid this cycle. I just really needed a break from the mood swings.
April- Welcome to the thread! It's good to hear that you don't have any s/e from Clomid. How many months have you been TTC?

Ren26- We have been trying for three months now. The doctor said that I should get pregnant fast after my IUD was removed but that just hasnt happened. I guess I have been a little impatient and thats what spurred us to try the clomid.

hey everyone
just got back from my scan and .....................
WE'RE HAVING TWINS!!!!!!!
still can't believe it!! we're sooooooo happy, excited, nervous...... everything!! I don't think it has quite sunk in yet! even though we were trying for twins, and hoping and praying, i was still shocked when they told me!
i went to the doctor this morning, and while feeling my uterus she noticed the right side was a bit tender. so she gave me a referal for a FREE scan at the hospital. she advised me to 'make like the pain was excruciating' to ensure i'd be seen today. LOL
i did my best and was seen quite soon. I had an internal scan. at first they didn't show me the screen, just kept saying, 'we're just having a good look and taking measurements, then we'll show you what we can see.'
then she turned the screen around and said:
"well, you have 2 rather big cysts on your right ovary, and........ YOU'RE HAVING TWINS" !!!
both sacs where clearly visible, and both had a heartbeat! sac A measured 6wks 6days, sac B measured 6wks 3days. according to my LMP i should be 7weeks 1 day, but they didn't seem too concerned about that, or the difference in size!
OMG!!!!
i just want to say thank you to everyone who has been here with me, giving support! and i hope to do the same for everyone! it's nice to be sharing this experience with you!
babydust to everyone!!!

No heartbeat because it was to early. But i have another scan on the 25th of this month to make sure all is ok with baby.Have you any pregnancy symtoms?ive got none at all.nothing, nada.hopeing that is not a bad sign.anyway greta im so excited for you. take care and keep us posted.

OMG Greta!!! How amazing is that? What did you say when they told you? Did you have the feeling it was twins the entire time? What does your dh think? CONGRATS!!!!!!

thanks guys!
still getting my head around it, but still super-super excited! I just really pray that everything goes well, and to have a healthy pregnancy and healthy babies!!
they are cla__sing this as a high risk pregnancy, simply because it's twins, but i wont be receiving any ante-natal care until the nuchal scan at 12 weeks. don't really know how it'll work there-after, but just know that i'll have more appts than with a singleton pregnancy.
ilovekids- GL with your 2nd scan, let us know how it goes! and lucky you to have no symptoms! i'm exhausted all day, and the nausea is really kicking in now- not nice! and the moods- OMG, i'm just a nightmare.
ren26- i think my exact response was:
'NOOOOO WAAAAAAAYYY' !!! DH too! DH is very excited. he claims he had a feeling it was twins (though he NEVER once mentioned this to me, lol)! i don't know if i really knew or was just thinking about it so much! IDK
i really hope you'll be sharing a BFP with us soon! how many dpo are you?
hope everyone else is well
babydust!!

Hey Everyone:
First of all congradulations to everyone who got BFP and good luck to all of us still trying.
Just wanted to update. Today was my appointment with the RE and the appointment completely confussed me.
His fellowship student came in and asked us some questions and did the follow-ups on the information packet. And said that even though I ovulated with the clomid it may be a weak ovulation and that i just need some simple shots in my stomach to help and that I was a great canidate for the IUI.
Then the Dr. came in and he was only talking about in-vitro and having to get the okay from a few doctors first before the go ahead and that how my insurance is good so i don't need to worry about anything.
I was confussed because our next step was suppose to be the IUI and now we are going straight to the in-vitro. Well not straight away....
i was told by my mother today that if it wasn't for bad luck i'd have not luck at all ....
I have to get the okay from the cardiologists because i had kawasaki disease when i was 5 and it caused a small defect in my heart valve. So i have to get the okay from the cardiologists because the pregancy could damage my heart (this is the first i have heard of this so just imagine). Then IF the cardilolgists says that it's okay for me to go ahead then I have to go see the high rick pregancy doctor because of all my other health issues ie asthma, aniemia, curve in spin,PCOS, low hormone levels, etc. He said no matter if it's a single or multiple i will have to be closely monitored by a high rick doctor and that i have a higher chance of early term labor and miscarriage. Then IF the high rick doctor signs off on the go ahead (again none of this was said until today) then my RE will want to go straight to the in-vitro fertilization because he thinks that will give us the best chance since my age is 27 and after 25 with all my issues it makes it harder to get pregant.
I only get 3 shots and that's it. My insurance will pay for as many IUI's as my doctor wants to do, but it only covers 3 attempts at in-vitro in my lifetime. I am just so confussed and p__sed off with my previous doctors to tell you the truth. My dh is happy he says that it's all good news, but all i see is that it can fall apart with one no from one doctor or if the in-vitro doesn't work right off the bat then my chance to every be able to afford the option is out the door. Or that with one wrong choice in the pregancy I could not only lose the baby but my dh could lose me too. I am just so lost and confussed and hopeless right now i don't know what to do.
I'm so sorry to have taken up so much of the page ladies and to burden you with so much information. I think i just needed to put it all down for it to really sink in ... after all the years of trying and doing everything i guess my mom is right that if it wasn't for bad luck i've no luck at all.

Dee Dee- I hope you get some answers from your RE. If you don't want to try ivf yet then insist on trying an iui. Maybe you could get a 2nd opinion from a different doctor or practice. I have found that the only way to get peace is to pray. God can make miracles happen everyday and take away all the anxiety and worry. Good luck and babydust!

Greta!! OMG! That is wonderful! Congratulations to you and your hubby! Hopefully the rest of us will be so lucky. Keep us up to date with everything new and good luck with that nausea.
Dee-Dee, wow...I could see how you might feel overwhelmed and confused with all the information they gave you. I hope the cardiologists give you the aok to get started soon. And I agree with Ren, if you want to give IUI a try you should talk to your dr about it. At least have them explain to you why they want to skip it and go straight to the IVF. Good luck and keep us posted.
Well, I'm on CD 5 and my day 3 of 100 mg clomid. Still no side effects besides having a super heavy period. This isnt comforting to me though...almost makes me feel like its not going to work. Shouldnt I feel something? Oh, well.. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
