im 16 and due in 8 weeks and having a boy and im happy about him coming but my ex wont do anything to help i havent seen him in months and he came over yesterday to say that he is not helping with him or doing child support and wants me to stay away from him and all but i need his help i want my son to have a father and i dont want my son to hate me cuz he hasnt been around at all

Hey Alone:) I know this must be tough for you, but don't worry. First off, I know what it feels like to be raised without a dad. I am 20 now, and my dad left when I was 2. My mom is the one person that has raised me, and for that she gets all my respect and all my love. So dont worry, your son wont hate you! He will look up to you! Second, if your ex chooses not to help, that is his choice, but as far as child support goes, that is something he needs to be giving. If he wont offer it freely, you can get it legally. Your not alone, things will work out:)

Seek out legal advice. If he does not want to take responsibility financially, that can be changed weather he wants to or not. As far as everything else, maybe once he sees his son he'll wake up. Good luck

i just dont know why some guys do this its bad and they will regret it sooner or later when they will miss out on the childs life

Well, "dad" really doesn't get a choice concerning Child Support, and you don't want your son to grow up with a "dad" who obviously wants nothing to do with him... I think no male influence is better then a bad one.

Perhaps you are better off with out him. You can get help for him, go to the state and make him pay child support. He will owe you that much.
