My 2 month old daughter seems to sound like she has phlem in her throat sometimes i notice it when she sleeps she sometimes gasps alittle like shes trying to clear her throat she doesn't sound like its in her chest or anything but its alittle scary anyone else have this or is it just normal due to her system not being mature yet? She sometimes coughs after to.

Very normal. When babies have mucus, they usually will cough and swallow. Their pa__sages are so tiny that is sounds very rasphy and loud when they breath. Just be advised that if the baby has difficulty breathing after like suctioning and it continues, take baby to the doctor. Mucus that is really thick and very excessive could be a virus, like RSV.

Most babies do expecially during winter months. Just keep a humidafier in her room and make sure you keep her from cig. smoke . What helps I know its hard to do but let her cry a minute before picking her up . It helps clear out her lungs.

My 2 month old is the same way. It is normal. Milk, the staple of a baby's diet, increases mucous production.
