Caleb Not Eating As Much As Before

I am a little worried because Caleb use to eat a lot more and more often. He can go more than 5 hours without eating and then he will play around with the bottle and finally after a while he will eat... but he never seems to be very hungry. I weighed him and he has not lost any weight seems to still have gained. He weighs around 15 1/2 lbs but only seems to eat around 29 oz. He has no fever, he not fussy and seems happy but just doesnt want to eat. Could he not like my br___t milk? has this happened to anyone else?

I ve been wondering about this too. My baby, Benedict is 3 mths old. He used to eat alot, like every 2-3 hours. But nowadays he can go 5 hours stretch without eating, and when I feed him he just playing around with my nipple or just suck for a while then quit.As for the weight I am not sure if my baby has lost any, since I haven't been to the doctor, gotta wait til he is 4 mths.

As babies get older, they become more efficient eaters. So they eat a larger amount in a shorter amount of time. Newborns sometimes take 40 minutes for a meal but a 3 month old might only need 5 minutes to get much more milk. I don't know if this applies to Caleb though, Monica. Are you nursing him, or is he getting a bottle. If it is a bottle It might just be because their needs tend to fluctuate a bit, it could just be his metabolism going through a phase.

he takes a bottle with b___st milk. I have a baby scale so I know he has not lost weight...but I am still worried. If he still doesnt well by Monday I will call his Ped.
