Aja has his two front lower teeth and has had diarrhea on and off for a couple weeks. I give him Smart Water (electrolyte balanced) and feed him rice cereal with fruit. Also, he has been coughing for a few weeks. Sometimes he sounds wheezy, but most often not. Due to the large amounts of saliva that he is swallowing, is it common to develop a cough? Did your babies develop a persistant dry cough while teething? He sees the doc tomorrow, but I am curious. Thanks!

the extra saliva could be the cause of his diahrrhea becouse he is swallowing more, it could also be why he is coughing thats why my little one is getting softer stools and coughing she is teething also

Thanks. Most articles state that it is not correlated but he seems fine otherwise, no runny nose, no fever... Also, he learned how to scream a couple weeks ago and has been experimenting with his new voice. That may have something to do with the cough, maybe? He loves to scream, especially when his mobile is on. It's like he is at a concert!

When Amaya had ear infections she was put on antibiotics and got diarrhea. Our doctor told us that when anyone has diarrhea you become lactose intollerant and it is very hard to get rid of the diarrhea if you continue with dairy products. Maybe change his formula to Lactose free just for about a week or so. Once we changed her formula everything was fine. It all went away!
