Ashley-me too! I would swear my daughter has yelled MAMA since she was a few months old. My husband hears it, too, when she gets really mad. I suppose she has justed figured out that it is a sound that gets quick results...

That is where the term "MaMa" came from...when babies cry it sounds like they're saying, "Mama". In most languages there is a common name for mother which sounds like either ma, mum, mom, or mama. So, from birth most babies say mama first. :) Asjani started saying dada at 5 1/2 months and she now knows that that's the name for my husband.

Yeah, I posted on the other first word site that my 12 wk old sounds like he is saying ma as well. It is the coolest sound. Hey Toya, thanx for the info. That sounds pretty cool.
