I am really stressed over what to put on my almost 2 month old son. Tonight I put on a snap t-shirt, cotton footed pjs and a sleep sac. Is that too much? I live in Massachusetts and temps are rather chilly lately. Please help. I'm freaking out

Well, it is worse to be too hot than too cold. When you go to his room during the night how does it feel to you? If it is a warm, comfortable temp, he will be o.k. in a undershirt and a sleeper...maybe a light blanket tucked into the end of the mattress so he can't pull it over his face. We heat our house by wood, so the immediate area by the stove is very warm, but the bedrooms are cool. I bought a little heater that turns off if it tips to keep my sons room warm at night. I have peace of mind now b/c I have the room regulated at a nice temp. I live in central alberta, and it is cold as hell here already!

my baby wears the same thing your baby wears plus socks. when i go in and check on him at night his face is so cold and his hands feel like ice so i end up putting socks on his hands.if there hands are sweaty then they are too hot. does he sleep with you or in his crib?

I keep our heat on at 73 degrees since it has started getting cold. I either dress my baby in feet pajamas with a onesie underneath and swaddle her, or I use a blanket sleeper with a onesie underneath and tuck a light blanket over her. Just feel her when she wakes up and make sure she isn't sweaty at all and doesn't feel to warm. If he sleeps with you then he won't need all that becuase you generate body heat to warm both of you.

My daughter wears a short-sleeved onsie and socks; I cover her with a light blanket, that she usually kicks off, so she ends up having her left leg covered, and the rest of her body uncovered. If I re-cover her, she immediately kicks the blanket off; so, I just let her sleep like that.

Well, I'm no professional, but I've always heard that the baby is comfortable when dressed in what you yourself would wear PLUS one layer. I, personally, think it's better to be a little too cold than a little too hot. Just me.

I read somewhere, that if you touch the neck and its sweaty then the infant is too hot. I've been checking this way ever since and not only checking his hands and its been working for me.

I have a room thermometer to make sure it is always at 70 - 73 F. My 2 mth is dressed in onsie and romper. I either swaddle him or wrap a fleece blanket around his underarm.

It's cold in my place and I put my baby in a baby sleeping bag. I bought it from www.babyinabag.com, just check it out.

We keep the temp. at 70 and I put him in a onesie and footed p.j.'s. and a light breathable blanket. The first few colder nights I checked his hands and he seemed fine.
