I just went out and bought the magnetic kind, we will use them for special occasions only. Like tonite to make her dad c___p his pants. >:oD

I got my daughters ear pierced when she was 3 months, it wasn't that big of a deal , she cried for a litle bit and thats it

Curious...watch her carefully when you've got the magnetic earrings on...if she managed to pull one off she might swallow it.

As promised, toungue in cheek, in a pregnancy post about pierced ears, if I had a daughter, I was going to do it. Well, I asked my pediatrician if there were ANY medical reasons not to, or to wait. She sighed, and said no. PERSONALLY, she told me to wait until my girl asked for it herself, but, well... that's not my doc's choice. Medically, she said there is no reason to wait for anything, so, at 5 weeks, I took my girlie to the salon I used to work at, and BANG! Got them done. With regular 'mini' studs. Not real gold. She is now almost 10 weeks old and we had NO PROBLEM, EVER with them! I cleaned them as I should have, and they are so darn cute!!! The response to them has been split, though. SOme people LOVE them. I also had my neighbor look at me and stone faced ask me "How could you?!?!?!" That's life.... different opinions, I guess! I LOVE THEM!!!!

I went to walmart last night and they had little gold plated cubic zirconia earrings for $9.75 including the piercing. I was going to do it right then...but then I chickened out. My husband is laughing at me...Oh well, I have to go back today for groceries. Maybe I'll give her some tylenol and get it done today...and maybe I'll chicken out again. I know I'll love it when it's done, I loved it when my older daughter got earrings. I realized I don't know my baby's birthstone...got to look up August now...

We pierced our dd at six weeks after consulting with our ped who encouraged me to go ahead at this age. She gave me some suggestions for moms having their infants/little girls ears pierced. If anyone is interested, write me an e-mail and I will send them to you.

Why on earth would you want to put holes and earrings into a baby's ears? Apart from the fact that it should be their choice whether they want them or not when they get older, why would you want to give them something to grab, possibly rip their ears or pull out and choke on?

My SIL had my niece's ears pierced at her 2 month appointment with the pediatrician right in the office there.. I thought that was wierd. This was done the same appointment as here shots.

I wish my pediatrician would do that. Well she might I don't see her that often so I never asked. I think I will give her a call...
