Just wondering when I can start giving my daughter juice? She is 6 months now.

my son is almost 4 months and i've been giving him juice now for almost a month. But he eats 6oz every 1 1/2 hours so i give him juice sometimes so he wont need to eat so much. my dr. said it was okay...just to do 1 juice at a time just in case he is allergic to one and i would know which one.

Now is a good time, as a snack. Make sure its 100% juice (all fructose no sucrose), and you can make it last longer if you water it down. Pear juice is the easiest on the baby's digestive tract. Gerber makes a pear juice that I use, 1/2 juice 1/2 water.

I have a cousin that has a six month old. When he was born he was 9 lbs. Now at six months, he only weighs 14lbs. She has been giving him juice. My son is four months old. He was 6lbs. when he was born. Now he is 14lbs. Her son had to go into all kinds of testing because he was not gaining weight. It was found that he had been given juice to "fill him up", but the problem is that juice doesn't have the nutrition like milk does.

my baby is 5 months old now and my pediatrician said it was ok to give her a little bit of juice 1/2 juice 1/2 water but to make sure she still drinks plenty of milk because they do get full with juice and dont want their bottles. for now they need the bottle more than juice
