OT Tramatized

I was in a restroom changing the baby and he was a little fussy. I am all done and just washing the baby's hands and face when this lady comes out of a stall and reaches out and touches my baby's cheek. I have never been so repulsed in my life! I was moved to extreme profanity. I can't think of anything nastier than what she did and I was deeply offended. I am sure I over reacted and she probably thought nothing of it until I started my tirade. I just don't get why people think its' ok to walk up and touch a baby's face, but not of to walk up to an unknown adult and do it. Has this happened to you guys and do you think I overreacted?

I don't blame you one bit for being mad. Especially since she was touching the baby after using the bathroom. I don't think strangers should touch a baby at all without permission from parents. At least now she'll think twice before walking up to someone elses child and touching him/her. The nerve of some people...

I think your reaction is very normal. I would be mad if some stranger touch my baby's face, let alone after using the bath room. It also happened to me yesterday, I was at mac donald ordering some food, and there was this boy came near my baby's stroller. I thought he was just looking. Suddenly his hand went inside the stroller and touch my baby.I was pretty p__sed about it, where the hell is his parent??? See now I am overreacting, we just being a protective mom and I think that's a good thing.

Sorry something so gross happened! I know it's awkward (sp?) What I hate is when filthy little kids come running up to my baby and touch him, and if I say anything the parents get mad because I'm "being rude" to their child! Although a friend of mine did explain to me that some elderly people believe that it is bad manners NOT to touch a baby, so I try to be understanding towards them if I can... but right out of restroom stall? YUCK! You were right to be mad!

I think you are being a drama queen!

How would you feel if someone you didn't know came up and touched you with their nasty hands after doing only God knows what in the bathroom??

I don't blame you but I have three children and sometimes I see babies that are so adorable I never touch but don't hesitate to stop and adore them and make stupid faces at the baby .lol I am glad you threw some profanity at her how else is she going to learn . I think other moms will appreciate that , I bet she'll behave now . and if not I'll be sure to chop her hands off if I see her in the mall . that's nasty !

I'm not sure about this. I think if they hadn't washed their hands I would of went mad with the woman, but I dont mind people looking and touching my baby. Most people touch babies hands though, not faces.

I would be extremely p__sed off if someone had touched my baby's face after going to the toilet, and not washing their hands! I myself, impulsively stroke a baby's face when I see one, but I wouldn't do it to a stranger, and I certainly wouldn't do it without washing my hands. That's disgusting, and I think if it'd happened to my baby, I would also have shouted abuse at the offender.

Sara - November 28

Lesley, she didn't wash her hands. She walked directly out of the stall saw us cleaning up and stroked my baby's cheek. For all I know she could have just changed a tampon or done God knows what else!

Jamie - November 28

That is so disgusting - I don't know what I would have done...maybe throw the baby's dirty diaper on her? Asked her what THAT felt like?

TC - November 28

That is so disgusting!!! If that was me, you probably would have saw my face on the 10:00 news bc I would have committed murder. LOL!! But dead serious!!!

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

I probably would have gone to jail that day, with my temper. How disgusting to touch your baby's face after coming out of the restroom! I wouldn't want some stranger touching my kid no matter what, but that is just gross. I have no problem with people looking at/smiling/talking to my son, but I would never touch someone's baby without asking, and would never even ask without clean hands. Wow!

Lissi - November 28

Jamie- The diaper thing is a good suggestion. Lol! I would have wiped it all over her cheek and said, "How do you like it?!"

Chelsey - November 28

I would've dunked her head in a smelly toilet! Sara is right, who knows what that dirty lady was doing in that stall before she came out to touch her baby! Gag!!!! I'm getting some sort of reflux just thinking about it! Out of curiosity, what DID you say to her, Sara? I hope it was real good!

Tami - November 28

I would have totally started a tirade! I get so mad if any stranger touches my baby without my permission, even her hands since they go directly into her mouth. I would have freaked out if some lady came out of a bathroom stall of all places and started touching my girl. I did offend my husband's cousin this weekend because she was coughing all over her hands then would try to hold Kailey's hand. I kind of lost it after repeatedly asking her not to touch her hands. Oops. Good for you for sticking up for yourself!
