I have a 3 week old baby, most of the day she sleeps, feeding every 3 hours during the day with sparodic awake timesand 5-6 hours at night. My question is does everyone put their new babies in bed during the day, it just seems if i put her in bed every time she slept she would be in there practically all day! I usually leave her in the living area in her swing or on a blanket on the floor, then at night after her 9pm feed i put her into bed. Is this ok or am i creating bad sleep habits?

From what I've read daytime napping should be in a place different than night sleep. My daughter seems to love her bouncer and naps there for short naps, or the swing. She sleeps 6 hours a night most of the time and she is 7 weeks old, but I'm not prepared to say it's because of the sleep patterns :-)

I alway put my daughter in her crib when she was taking a nap. Sleeping is sleeping and there is a "proper" place for it. That is my opinion.

Babies love their beds. There is nothing wrong with putting your baby in the crib during the day too...they actually appreciate it. You will be creating good sleep habits by doing it. I do agree though that it seems like they just live in their room.
