I am so confused about some of this stuff becuase every book, expert and pediatrician tellls you something else! I read contradicting things all the time!!! For exampl when can you introduce eggs (scrambles) to your baby? Or soy milk? I heard that you can start soy milk at 6 months and from a different source I heard not until one year!!!!! Also I know you should wait until one eyar to introduce cowmilk... but I drink fatfree milk, should I get the whole milk for her??Or is skim ok? Also I already gave her soy milk and she loves it, so I hope its ok, she is one!! I wuld alsoknow ifI an give her eggs.. thank you for any replies.....

I am not sure about any of this, but I know at our 6 month check up our doctor asked if we had given Amaya eggs and we said no and she said not to. I didnt think to ask why (I dont like eggs very much so it didnt bother me) I have heard that you dont introduce cows milk until after a year and not sure about soy.

My ped advised me to use whole milk when she is 1, and also to avoid eggs until then, because egg allergies run in my family.

I was going to say 1 yr as well. My son is allergic to soy now, so I have to be very careful when he starts eating real food. I'm hoping he will outgrow the allergy though and it won't be an issue.

Babies are to be given full milk. Don't know why but I had this ma__sive debate with my health visitor when I had my daughter. I give her milk at about 9 month old and I got a lot of flack for it! I give Adam it at 9 month old too. Years ago we were all given it younger than a year so why the change? They do tests and change the rules all the time! My daughter now has excema, I don't know if thats to do with the fact I give her milk at 9 month, or just one of those things. noone else in my family has excema, but then again noone had hearing problems either.....

My doc said to start Homo milk at 9 months I started my girl at 8 1/2 she's doing great with it but she also eats a wide varitey of foods the reason to wait till 9 months is there is less iron in homo milk so you need to wait till they are eating things with iron in it, if your not comfortable wait a year.

Soy milk is easier on their system than cow's milk. You also don't have to worry about Bovine growth Hormones. Not to mention Mad Cow Disease.

I think soy milk should be fine at about 6 months, because it is easier for our systems to digest. But the cow's milk should not be given until your child is 12 months. Whole milk should be given, then 2% when the child is 2 years old. I'm not sure about eggs, but I would guess around 12 months as well, seeing as it's an animal product and that's usually what's recommended. Maybe 9 months...

Speaking of eggs, I heard the other day that a person who is allergic to eggs shouldn't get the flu shot? I did not know this!

Oh, and cow's milk (whole) shouldn't be introduced until 12 mos. of age. Not sure about the eggs, b/c there are eggs in custard, and that can be introduced at 6 mos.
