Does anyone know whether or not it's bad to give toddlers spicy food? I love spicy chicken burrito's and I give Zane bites. He can eat a whole half one alone. Is that bad?

I think it is fine. My son always loved to eat enchillads, rice and olther spicy stuff. To this day he still eats it. If he didn't like it, he wouldn't eat it. My son even tried a jalapeno and like it when he was about 2!!!

My daughter kept coming nicking my food when I was pregnant and eating Indian. She loves chicken Tikka, but I didn't the next day :-(

Location, Location, Location. IMHO, it is all about where you live, the way you were raised, & the culture in which you were raised in. In the Carribean, it is not uncommon for a toddler to have spicy foods bc that is what is ate their a lot. My husband is Jamaican and could probably eat a freaking hot pepper and not even bat an eye. They ate jerk (type of peppery seasoning) and other things from when they were small. I mean honestly, do you think that the kids in India eat imported American food? Nope, they eat what their parents eat. I think that if it something that is indigenous to their culture then more than likely it is not a problem. We humans evovle and we get accostomed to our enviornments.

I think he wil be fine, my family has been eating spicy food since I remember, I have been given spicy since I can remember and i am fine. I plan on giving my son spicy food so he gets used to (if he likes it) that way I won't have to cook different things, he will eat what we all eat :)
