Well my daughter was born July 17 and about 2 weeks ago around 5:30 every evening she cries and screams for about 3 hours we try everything to soothe her we use the milicon drops for gas,we change her, bathe her, walk, bounce, rock and try her swing and try to feed and burp her but nothing works. She will stop after a couple hours or so its so exhausting and stressing. Anyone else have this situation? Oh and a pacifier will not work either.

My son has been doing this since he was about six weeks old. (Now three and a half months). I call it seven o'clock cry time. I once thought that maybe he had a belly ache, but now I think that it just time for bed. He is ready for his busy day to be over with. I usually just nurse him give him a bath and put him to bed. It seems to be working for us.

sounds like colic, try swaddeling your baby really tight in a blanket and getting a fish tank or fountain for her room, works really well for my colicy twins. Oh and if you bottle feed, try dr. browns bottles, they are really expensive, but well worth the cost!

Thank you for your responses. My mother-n-law thinks that she is fighting her sleep and I really dont think that is it BC she starts this at the same time eveyday even when we are out somewhere and she does not stop til about 8:30. She is only 6 weeks old and I never experienced this with my oldest daughter. Thanks again:)

to Lilmama just curious how much are the doctor browns in your area. where I live they are under $5. I bought one for my son and they seem to work for the gas.

Monica, under $5????? I also use Dr.Brown bottles and love them, they are $35.00 where I live. Where do you live? Nelly, my daughter was very colicy as well and I tried the Dr. Browns bottles, maybe its a coincedence but it seemed to work! She's almost 5 months and has been ok since (knock on wood).

Every baby has a pressure point at the small of their lower back. Cradle your baby close to your heart with one arm. Take your free arm and use your middle and ring fingers to make small circular motions at the small of your baby's back.Only a tiny bit of pressure is needed. I found that this works best if you are sitting down and slightly rocking the baby. You should also try to hum to your baby while you are doing this to cause a vibration in your chest that will soothe the baby. This will take some time to calm your baby down, but it does work. The important thing is that you be consistant with it, and you remain calm. You can also try lavendar. Johnson's makes a lavender bath that is great. You can try the bath, and the pressure point, it just might do the trick. Good Luck to you.

I've heard that they call it "arsenic hour" and it is usually when you are the busiest ie; cooking etc. I've never experienced it (yet) but maybe try some restful activities, or try to change her sleep pattern so she has a nap at that time?

That's colic. She should grow out of it by 4 months if not sooner. I believe it's because their digestive system is not fully matured. Try laying her on her belly on your chest and rubbing her back. Do you use formula or b___stfeed? Sometimes a certain formula may make it better. I switched to Good Start (I b___stfeed too). There are others that your doctor may suggest if he thinks that'll help. I used those gas drops and it didn't seem to do much for my son. Although his gas/colic only lasted till he was 5 or 6 weeks. I know you said the pacifier doesn't work but have you tried it while craddling her against your chest? Almost like she's b___stfeeding. Do this standing up and walking around the house. Put on some soothing music. It may work and it'll be good exercise for you! Also, I like the NUK pacifier (make sure it's the right size for your babies age).

it's colic, ask your doc for Levsin...may or may not work but it's worth a shot.

To Monica, I live in Canada, and they actually don't even sell Dr.Brown bottles at Walmart. It was 3 for $35.00 each at 8oz.
