don't know - it depends on them ! my son is 4 months old and still doesn't sit up :)

Asjani was a little over 4 months when she started sitting up on her own...even at that she was still a little imbalanced.

Amaya is 6 months today and she is sitting up on her own with an occasional tumble. She started really sitting on her own at about 5 months but trying to at about 4 1/2 months

Hmmmmm Logan don't sit up yet at 6 months. I'm not very worried because I think at the moment he's more focussed on trying to crawl. Are any other 6 month olds paying more attention to crawling then sitting? Now I'm curious.

To Mommy~ Amaya had her 6 month check up today and her doctor said every baby is different and some children work on crawling, some work on sitting, some work on talking, some work on fine motor skills. She said there is nothing to worry about unless they show no sign at all in learning anything.

Stephanie, how was Amaya's appointment today? Did she get her shots too?

Jadyn sits up but only for a few minutes before she starts to look like the leaning tower of pisa and she is 6 months tomorrow. We are now trying to work on the crawling because she really does not seem at all interested in that!

Nathan is almost six months and he is just now starting to sit up. He still needs support.

it varies some babies will sit up at 4 months most start to sit up around 6/7 months and start crawling around 10 months

She did have her shots, she is alway such a trooper after them. She will sleep for about 4 hours and then she is the happiest baby ever!! She is taking a nap right now and when she wakes up it will be time for a bath and story then bed!

From my journal recordings, at 5 months, when you placed my son down to sit, he would sit for awhile and then topple over. At 6 months he would sit without toppling over. By the end of 7 months, from a laying down position he learned to get up on his own and sit. He still doesn't crawl.
