It might possible be thrust, or a yeast infection. My son had that when he was a month old and it was because I nursed him and also had a root canel done and needed to take antibiotics and they caused him to get thrust. I also got a yeast infection on my b___sts. Boy was that painful!! I would suggest after your babys feeding, maybe give her 1oz of warm water to rinse her mouth, than see it the white is still there, if it is you should take her into the doctor because she will need to be treated. I had to paint on a medicin on my son for 10 days 2xa day. It was rather simple and it cleared up just fine. Good Luck. ~Amy~

I am sorry, I meant thrush, not thrust!?!

That would be thrush. She'll need an antibiotic for that.

Yeah - it could be thrush. My son had it and we had to treat him with antibiotics -and I had to treat myself too because I am b___stfeeding - he pa__sed it to me - on my nipples. Ouch !

b___stfed babies do not need water. One ounce seems like a little, but to a newborn it can cause their sodium levels to drop and cause seizures. Use a wet wash cloth to wipe their mouth instead.

if it is mostly white it is probably whatever they are eating. Pretty sure thrush shows up as white spots.

My six-week old had a couple of white spots on her tongue. I took her to the doctor and he said it was formula stuck to her tongue. He said if it came off, it was just formula. Over the weekend it spread to her lips, gums and inside her cheeks, so I called the doctor back on Monday and he gave her a prescription for an anti-fungual, because by then it was clear that it was thrush and not just formula. I've read that if you're b___stfeeding and your baby gets thrush, you can take acidopholus tablets (in the vitamin aisle) to treat the thrush. At least they have medicine for it now...my little sister had it and my mom had to treat it with genetian violet, which is a bright purple dye.
