Hey it's good to see everyone... and a new thread.. haha. Lesley, I know how you feel with dh. JD is my 3rd, and I had a round with dh about him playing video games til all hours of the morning. I finally blew up and told him not to be b___hing about being tired when he "chooses" to stay up late, and I "have to" get up with the baby at night and in the morning, then when the little one sleeps during the day, I have to keep up with my 2 toddlers, while he sleeps. It drove me mad, not only that but he'd be good with the baby and be short-tempered with my girls. I told him "we" are a package deal, and I'm not going to put up with that BS. Lesley, here in the US, at least in Texas, it is required by law that all newborns pa__s a hearing test, and if they fail, they have to be taken to a specialist. Both of my dd's failed, but after their pediatrician took a bit of the "vernix" that was still in their ears out, they pa__sed. I don't know if that helps any. On the other hand, JD doesn't really jump at all the different noises, but I'm pretty sure that he got used to all the loud sounds when I was pregnant with him. haha.

Barb, it's good to see you back!! Ranya, how are you doing? Are you hanging in there? I'm trying to keep positive still. Colic sucks, I agree 100%. I've been blessed that JD doesn't have it, then again, he already weighs 12 lbs at 5 weeks. JD also loves looking at the Christmas Tree. It was a pain putting it up, but well worth it to keep him quiet. He hates being put in his swing, but doesn't mind as long as it's in front of the Tree. Lisa, maybe your dh finally realizes what he's been missing.

Shannon and Lesley, I don't know how you could have s_x so soon. I'm not knocking ya'll for it or anything, it's just that if my dh even tried, I'd probably give him the go to hell look. I'm already dreading the torture of going to see my doc next week for my postpartum exam. Just thinking of the sound of the "click, click, click" from that dang ole' contraption gives me the heebie jeebies. I stopped BF my 1st dd around 9 months and not even within 2 weeks, I was pregnant again. I was also on BC Pills at the time. They don't tell you that a variety of factors effect whether or not they work, for example, if you are overweight or underweight, they might not work. Isn't that crazy?

I was told that during pregnancy the baby gets used to the typical noise you around. I wasn't told by a health professional so don't know how trus it is. If it is true it will explain him sleeping through the other 2 playing and fighting. But won't explain that stupid rape alarm. I'll be making some more calls today see if I can get him up that list quicker. £200 is a lot of money to spend on something I already know. I can look up info on the net, I know how they do tests and I know that he needs one. I don't need a consultation. But they won't give him one without the other. As for the s_x thing... I only done it the once. It didn't hurt or nothing but I am always so tired I can't even begin to think about it again yet. Maybe in 18 years or so LOL!!! My oldest is 5 tomorrow. I can't believe how quick the time has went :-(

JB, i sure was nervous about having s_x again, but i've always had a hard time resisting my dh ;-) hehe it wasn't that bad, i'm glad i waited 5 weeks. i'll have to get on bc pills asap, i guess... i went out with my friends last night and had a whopping 1 1/2 beers. it was my first time drinking anything alcoholic in like almost a year so i got a little buzz, which is just sad lol. it was fun actually getting out of the house and seeing my friends, though. i didn't stay out too late because my dh had to work the next day and isabelle was crying unconsolably, poor little girl. i don't know if i'll be able to go back to work right away, even if i'm only working a couple days out of the week. i wish i could go back in like a few more months when she's a little older, maybe starting solids. ... awww everyones putting up trees! we're not this christmas, isabelle's too young to care anyway. next year.

well, what i want to do is work a relatively short shift during the weekend and have my dh watch her since he has weekends off, that way we don't have to spend any cash having other people watch her. he's not looking forward to it because he feels helpless when she cries and it breaks my heart knowing she'll probably cry most of the time i'm away. my dh also wants me to get a respectable job, cuz it's only a c___ppy restaurant job, but i think it'll just be easier to continue on at least until the baby's older and i can work longer or i can go back to college for my Masters degree. hopefully i can go back to school part-time, then i won't work at all and do a distance-learning program so i can stay home. we'll see. i'm kinda tense, worrying about what i'll do, things are all up in the air and i have to figure things out soon.
