Jeez almighty is he getting to be a handful!! He is in love with everything that he is not supposed to touch (cords, phones...) and is acting out at the tender age of only 8 months. I just fed him rice and some yo-baby yogurt and he threw a major fit everytime he ate the rice instead of getting another spoonful of yogurt. God forbid someone calls and I don't pass the phone to him to interact with whoever is on the other line. One of these days, when he is going limp and arching his back in protest, we may have an accident. That boy is getting stronger by the day....

That is so funny! Well, probably not for you right now, but I have a feeling that in a few months my strong, quick tempered little feisty man will be doing the same thing. He is very much like his mommy, and I have quite a quick temper!LOL! I think I have met my match with my 3 month old. Life will be very interesting when he can talk!

It's awful. We are thinking of flying to Madison in a few weeks but w/ the way he is acting, I am not so sure I can deal with it. I can't imagine he will stay seated in his seat on the plane... unless I have a working phone, a remote control, some cookies, and a few cords.

Sounds like those days make being a stay at home mom tough. I am not looking forward to it, but I guess it is part of the package. I can understand his preference for the yo-baby, have you tried the rice? Yuck!

Just wait until they are almost 4 years old! My Hailey is the freakin' Devil some days! I swear! She's got such a "teenager" att_tude! Favorite sayings are..."Like, duh!" or " That's what you think!" You don't know what strength a little kid has until they climb the shelves in the fridge looking for something and you have to try and wrestle and pry their fingers off, and the whole fridge nearly topples over!!

I managed a diaper change tonight by giving him a set of headphones to play with. He got the happiest smile I have ever seen. It was like he discovered gold and wanted to keep it a secret. You know that kind of smile??

Oh, you mean she's lippy too, Monica? Hailey is quite the "princess"., for some reason she acts like royalty too! I love her to bits though, and actually look forward to the new phrase of the week! Narcissus, Aja is such a handsome guy! He sounds like he's such a cutie pie!

OMG, he is getting way out of control, esp tonight. He is simply becoming a naughty and very tempermental baby. I have an amazing tolerance for this stuff but my problem is that I laugh when he has his fits. I don't want him to think it's okay to turn red, make fists, and groan loudly when he does not get his way. Still, I find it kind of funny.

CEM, I just saw your post. Life is going quite well, & my jaw/ear pain is gone:) How about your life? How did the autism testing go, if I may I ask?

Hey there. I sent your coupons out in the mail today and I also threw in some Huggies coupons and a couple others that are expiring at the end of the month. If you don't use them you can toss them or give them to someone who might. I have a million diapers still and tons more of the Huggies coupons that don't expire for a few more months.

Hi Narcissus! Glad to hear your pain is gone, that's awesome... I'm so happy for you!! About the autism thing... we're on a waiting list to be tested for it (since it's all free here they make you wait), and probably won't get in until spring 2006 :(. They've done some private testing on him at his daycare in the meantime and are all of the belief that there definitely is something "different" about him, albeit in a very mild form. They say he "lacks empathy for others", in other words has a hard time seeing another person's perspective. Anyhow, he definitely makes up for it in other ways! Nice to see you're still around! :)

CEM, how old is he? His daycare tested him? Does their test have a name? His environment at the time of testing may have played a part in the results. You never know...I will still hope and pray for you! -- Heidi, thanks a million for all the coupons:) We soooo need them. I need a J-O-B or Dh needs to go industry in his field and get out of academia! AHHH!

Narcissus, I don't think there was a specific name given to the tests my son underwent. He's going to be five in February, and they spent a couple days at his daycare filming him and talking to him to see his reaction in different situations. We saw the videotape later and from what I could see he was the same way he is at home. They looked at how he interacted with the other kids, and a physiotherapist did some other things with him. Balance, coordination, motor skills, cognitive stuff. He's fine in the physical department, but the word problems gave him trouble :(. But that could also be because he's bilingual, I don't know. Thanks for thinking of us! I'll also pray that Aja eases a bit up on you!
