My baby is 3 mths old. He used to talk back alot when I talked/sang to him. Nowadays I just realised he doesn't even coo whenever I talk/sing to him he'll just laugh/smile. He still does his cooing whenever he is by himself though. Should I worry?

My initial reaction was, heck no, savor these moments cause he'll be a teenager soon! LOL...but, in all seriousness, do you think he's got a problem with his hearing? If not, I wouldn't worry too much - maybe just check with his doctor at the next appointment.

His knew found sound is more interesting for him to hear then talking, and smiling is the same thing. I won't worry about talking he will again to you before you know it. Baby's go thout fazes of whatever sound they like the best they do regardless if it is a smile or a coo sound get used to it . You have a lifetime of new thing.

I don't think you have anything to worry about! My 11 month old doesn't talk much and that worries me, but I found out her hearing is fine so i think she's just a late start, but at 3 months , he's just going through these phases like whatever is new and amuzing at the moment

I am pretty sure his hearing is fine, because he will startle whenever he heard loud noise, and also he can track sound very well. I tested him with rattle toys and called his name. To Lisa I think you might be right, my son has rolled over couple days ago, he seems to enjoy it very much. It seems to me like he is more interested in his hands and legs then cooing now.
