depends on the swing.. If your baby's head is flopping around when it swings.. maybe wait a while.. or cheat like me and get a head pillow from a carseat..

only like two weeks old.. it tilted back and i used the pillow.. he was so comfortable there he would sleep there most of the time until he was about three months.

I think they say something about swings at 6 weeks, but we used ours the first week home from the hospital, we just packed her in with blankets and used it on the lowest setting. She was just fine!
