clindholm-i had them at exactly 37 weeks. thank goodness, because the hospital i wanted to deliver at would only allow it after 36 weeks. i found this out when i went in with my 3rd bout of preterm labor at 35 weeks. :P i recently stopped bfing and am now just formula feeding with a soy formula. since the boys started teething, they haven't been interested in nursing. i think it's just because they have instant gratification with the bottle and have to work a little harder with nursing. :P i was a little sad to stop, but they would fuss so much while nursing and just get milk everywhere, so it kind of seemed pointless. i was pumping for quite awhile, but have even given up 1/2 my pumpings each day. i figure if they're not interested, i should just let it go. tara0- i'll be 25 next month :)

So, today was absolutely horrible!! And, Brady is NEVER going back to that place! I'm taking the next 2 days off, and I think we have something starting Monday... So, when we got there, there were 11 kids!!! 11! And, about 4-5 under 1... And, to make it worse, when I commented on this fact to my hubby, the woman got defensive and basically told us that we could leave if we wanted. AHHHH! So, he stayed for a few hours, but he is not going back. I'm taking off tomorrow, and I'm working on finding something now...anything is better than there. OK, now that I'm done ranting, I'll go read all of your posts and comment.

wow. is she licensed? i'm lucky enough to have family caring for my boys for at least their first year, so i'm not up on the regulations and all. but, can't she get in trouble for having only 1 adult for 11 kids?? especially with so many under 1??? wow. just...wow. i probably would have socked her one. :P

Kimmer23 - March 25

funnygal - no, she's not licensed. But yeah, she could get in A LOT of trouble for not being licensed and having that many kids...we were VERY dumb to take him there in the first place. What was I thinking? I think we have another place now though - we interviewed a woman last night, and I've called al her references today and called and talked with her again. And, I'm stopping over tomorrow with Brady to see how things go. So, hopefully this will be better. Hopefully :) She only has 3 kids max. Colleen - I hope you are feeling better. Yuck! Thanks again for teh CPR tips. Oh, the new woman is CPR certified, and she was background checked through the schools...she volenteered until recently at her son's school. OK - I gotta run now, but I'll write more later.

Oh my gosh Kimmer! I can't believe that many kids, especially so many under the age of 1. This is the woman that one of your colleague's recommended? Are they aware that she has that many kids?!!! I don't know what the regulations are where you live, but here, caregivers (whether they're licensed or not) can take a maximum of 5 kids, and I believe that only 1 can be under a year old. As awkward as it may be, you should report her. There is no way that that's a safe environment for anyone's kids. And, with that many kids, you'd think she'd definitely want to be trained in CPR!!! Anyway, I hope the new woman you've found works out for you. Keep us posted.

Hi girls!!! How is everyone? Colleen - Sorry you got the stomach bug. Hope you are feeling better. kimmer - that is so crazy!!! I hope everything works out. Everyone who added their email for facebook. I added you as friends in case you don't recognize my email - ttorsini!!! Hope everyone has a good day!!! TARA

clindholm - March 27

Kimmer- Don't beat yourself up about it! You were going by coworkers referrals, it's not your fault. I'm glad you got Brady out of there. Sounds like the new woman will be great. I am VERY lucky, my lo's stay with my mom. I pay her the same as a daycare in the area and she has my 2 and my little 10 month old nephew. Three is plenty for 1 person. funnygal- why do your lo's need soy formula? I'm just curious b/c bf'ing is milk based. Tara- You are in Jersey right? I'm in CT and we are supposed to have some really nice sunny weather today. I wish I didn't have to work. babeedust- how is your lo doing? Oh, I just wanted opinions. How old was/is your lo when you put them in their own room? I may move Luke this weekend. How are the rest of the girls doing? Jess, austnsmommy and anyone else I may have missed? I emailed the CPR info to micsmms, funnygal and kimmer this morning. If anyone else wants it just let me know. TGIF!!!!!! Colleen

TaraO - March 27

Hey Colleen, I am doing great...Yes, I am in Jersey. It's gorgeous today. My lo is on soy also. He had trouble with everything...Now I'm thinking it was just the reflux. I am hoping at the 4 month checkup we can make some changes back to milk based. He had a much easier time pooping on the milk based. I'm waiting for the pediatrician to call me. I called them yesterday and they still haven't called back. Michael screamed from 3 until 7 yesterday...I mean screamed. He's been on the same dosage of reflux medicine since he was 6 weeks. He's been puking constantly. I think it is acting up again. Hopefully, they call me today!!! My lo was 8 weeks when we put him in his own room. Which I his and my good sleeping too. I think the quiet is better for all of us. I have a monitorm and I hear every noise. But he tends to sleep better without seeing me!!! Thanks for the offer on the cpr stuff. I just recertified a few weeks ago. I am a volunteer emt in my town. I'm not active... I just retrained for the hell of it. Anyway. Hope everyone is doing well. funnygal, I saw your lo's on your facebook, they are gorgeous!!!!

Hey girls! How is everyone? jeni, babee, jess, ausynsmommy? Day care update - we are going to use that second woman. I really like her, and she only has 2 kids 4 out of 5 days of the week, and the other little girl is 4. The one day she does have 3 kids, the other girl is 3. So, Brady will get so much attention and caring, and that's the most important thing in my opinion with a baby at 3 mos. Oh, and he slept SOOOO well last night (and has been doing better generaly). He didn't wake until 4:40, and then went back to sleep ater I fed him until 8:00. We now give him 6 oz before bed. It keep him full longer. And, he cries after 4... Tara - you have a great schedule! Way to go! Tara - I hope your pedi calls you back. Your lo probably needs a higher dose. We just took Brady for a three month weight check (he's 9lbs, 14oz by the way...in between the 3rd and 5th percentile...so tiny). But, at that appointment we discussed Brady's zantac and reflux. The pedi told me that he'll soon need his dosage upped. They do it by weight, and i"m sure your lo has gained a lot since 6 weeks. Colleen - my lo is in our room in his crib. He'll probably stay there for a while out of necessity...we don't relaly have a room for him until we move (which will hopefully be soon). But, he's still with us right now... Did Luke end up getting sick? I hope not!! Oh yeah, it's pretty nice here in Ohio today - 65 and sunny! I hope it stays for a few more days. I'm home today. Brady will start day care on Monday, so I better enjoy the nice weather today! Babee - how's Makayla? Funny gal - I'm on facebook too. Give me and add if you want! Well, I'm off, but I hope everyone is doing well. Take care!

clindholm-we switched to soy bc they seemed to have less problems with ga__siness. they would turn red trying to get gas out before and it's much better now. also, we still haven't moved our boys out of our room. we co-sleep and i find it hard to get them to sleep in their room. they'll sleep in their crib together each night for maybe 2 hours and then cry after that. we keep trying, though. reading tara's post, i think we might try switching back to regular formula. i didn't think about it til now, but the boys have hard more problems pooping since they switched to soy. interesting.

jeni23 - March 28

Yea soy definatly constapates,so today is a bla day,3 outta 4 kids are sick with colds and its gloomy outside, hopefully tommarows a better day,and hopefully every gets better fast, how are you all feeling?

TaraO - March 29

Hi girls, I talked to the dr WE are increasing the dosage of zantac. since Michael is just about 18 pounds. He's 14 weeks and hadn't had an increase since 6 weeks old. He's still puking his guts up, but those of you who have seen pics, know he's not starving!!!! Anyway, my dr and I are going to talk about the soy thing when I go back in 3 weeks. My older one has strep throat and now my throat hurts. It could be imaginary!!!! Also, one question. How's everyone doing with their weight gain!!!!! I wall 6 miles 3 X a week and exercise 3 X a week and don't seem to be shedding the pounds like I did with my first...Maybe its my 30 year old metabolism!!!!! It really stinks! I dropped about 30, but I gained close to 60. I would ideally like to lose another 15. Have a good night!!!

funnygal84 - March 30

Well, I've always been pretty small. i actually only weighed a little over 100 pre-baby. I gained about 45 lbs with my boys and I've lost all but i think 15lbs. i don't work out as much as I'd like since i'm usually too busy with my boys. my husband works nights, so it's just me with the boys until the weekend. does anyone have any workouts you can do around the house or that i can sneak in at work? i also have a problem with motivation bc i get bored easily. :P i used to work out 2-3x a week at the Y, but they don't have a nursery anymore. I'm still small, but i'd really like to lose the baby pudge. tara - thank you! we think they're pretty cute, too, but i might be biased. :P long weekend visiting dh's side of the family in illinois. it's always nice to visit, but also nice to go home, too.

Kimmer23 - March 30

Hi girls. So, I'm on at work...he he. But, my first day back is going smoothly now that I'm comfortable where he is. As for weight gain, I gained almost 30, and I've lost about 22. SO, I'm doing well, I guess. But, I had gained a little pre pregnancy too, so I'm hoping to lose another 10-15. I hope everyone is doing well. Oh, and Tara, I hope the upped dose of zantac does the trick! Try to stay healthy too :) Take care girls.

babeedust2all - March 31

Hey Ladies! Clindholm, my ds was about 3 weeks old when we put him in his own room, only because he was soooo loud at night (always stretching, etc.), and dh and I could barely sleep. With my dd who's now 3 months old, we moved her crib into our room because she was making a whole lot of noise when she was in her ba__sinette just like ds did. We didn't put two and two together until we had dd, but I guess the ba__sinettes aren't all that comfy, so that probably contributed to the stretching issue! Anyway, we'll probably keep dd in our room until she's at least 6 months old. Tara, I lost my pregnancy weight really quickly, but I also only gained 17.5 pounds. I do however want to lose an additional 40 pounds of weight that I've gained over the past 10 years (I'm 30), so I'm currently working on that. I told myself that I'd bake myself a cake once I got to 10 pounds, which I did last week. The only problem is that I baked the cake, ate most of it, and gained back 3 pounds! Sigh!!! I'll have to come up with a better reward for my next 10 pounds; perhaps new workout clothes or a trip to the spa, instead of something I can eat (because I have very little willpower)! Anyway, I hope everyone's doing well!

clindholm - April 1

Hey girls! Hope everyone is well. Luke is not sleeping too well in his crib. He makes it til about 3 am then wakes up. so I plunk him in his carseat next to my bed for the rest of the night. He actually was up at about midnight last night. i hope it gets better & he just has to get used to it. Well I gained 25 lbs through my pregnancy and lost 20 lbs in the first 2 weeks after he was born. I can't get rid of the last 5 lbs (not trying too hard either). Anyway, I was 5 lbs overweight when I got pregnant so I am 125 now and want to be 115 max. I just really love to eat! Kimmer- how is Brady at the new daycare? Tara- how is the increase of Zantac working for your lo? Has the pedi mentioned trying a pre-digested formula (Alimentum, etc) to help w/ the constipation? babeedust- thanks for the info. My whole problem is that Luke has been sleeping in his carseat! He really prefers it and I had a feeling it was going to cause a problem. I kept my now 2yo dd in our room til she was a year. Talk about being neurotic, huh? Hey jeni, funnygal, how are you doing? Is anyone else planning another lo or are we all done now? Just curious. Colleen
