Does Anyone Get WIC

Is there anyone here that could give me some information about Pcap?

I just wanted to say...WIC should not be considered welfare...or, if it is, there is something seriously wrong with the gov't's budget. My husband is Active Duty Army...and every single family I know here is on WIC, ourselves included. If WIC is welfare, then the entire military is on welfare, in time of war. Something's wrong with that picture.

We have a family of 6. We are on the wic program. The income guide line for a family of 6 is 66,345. We make just under that. So the women who say it is just for low income familys, you are wrong. It is a nut_tional program that offers information. And provides healthy food, milk and cheese to its participants. I have found the program to be wonderful and the women there are great.

wic is not welfare at all

Wic isn't Welfare but tax payers pay for the program same as Welfare. What's the different between the two. In order to qualify for Wic you have to meet the income guidelines just like Welfare & medicare. Wic income guidelines: 1 person= 17,705; 2=23,736 ; 3=29,767 ; 4= 35,798 ; 5=41,827 ; 6=47,861; 7=53,891 ; 8=57, 9222 Can someone please explain to me the different between welfare and Wic. Thanx

The difference between wellfare and wic is that..wellfare gives a check to every family that dosent work..they give like ex: 1000$/month plus free medications for a family of 4, and more for bigger families. And all you have to do is look for a job. you dont have a time limit for that, like i said as long as you look for a job. And unfortunatly there is alot of people that take advantage of it and sadly they are getting stricker. Wellfare is in Canada...here is canada we dont have WIC programs. But what i heard is that they dont give $$$$$ they give you vouchers and you buy basic ...milk,eggs.......infant formula. and free shots for kids.

You are just looking for an arguement. Think what you will, it does not bother me. And hopefully won't bother the other millions of mothers and babies, and children who are on WIC.

To "To all you losers" - thanks, I'm glad to know that you don't think my husband, who's in the MILITARY, is a hard worker. How about you go to Iraq instead of him? I'd sure LOVE that.

WIC is a lifesaver for me I used one the other day for the formula for a month and it would have cost me $104. if it was not for WIC. Its great if you qualify for it.

What the hell is your problem? Did you ever think of the situations some people are in we are not all loaded and we are still good people. My husband is away aiding in the hurricane relief and I bust my a__s taking care of our 2 kids and I can only work part-time right now bc of school.

I wish I qualified for WIC. It would be a great help. We are just a bit over the income guidlines for a family of 4 and I personally think that formula is way overpriced. I can't understand why they charge so much for something that babies need and imagine how much all those companies that make it are making but oh well, that's life I guess...and those who don't agree with people being on WIC must not care about children at all because no matter what it is the parents are doing or not doing-it's to feed babies!!

on the woman whose husband is in iraq, anybody that has to go through something like that should not have to pay taxes for the rest of their lives and the soldiers should be cut a pretty nice check for all their grief, not to start a fight,

take it from someone who gets WIC. you get milk egg cheese and juice...oh and peanut b___ter for those who are pregnant and get it and then when baby is born they also add formula. you only get one size and thats 12.9 oz. if you have multiples (kids) then youll get vochuers (sp) for each one of your babies. but it is true you have to be low income or a single mother

Anna - September 23

sorry vouchers*

Tiffany - September 23

you do not have to be a single mother in order to get wic. it is only based on income or the health of the baby just like others have stated. there is a website for wic that you can go on.
