my mil thinks i am over feeding my 6 1/2 mo. old i have recently cut back on what she eats becouse the dr sugested it. since cutting back she eats two 6-8 oz bottles of formula and about 4 oz of cereal and 6 to 12 oz. of fruits, veggies(starting other foods also) and 4 to 12 oz of water and or (watered down) juice the dr did say that the amount she eats now (since cutting back) is fine, but my mil is driving me nuts with her constant sugestions she even tried not letting me feed my daughter the other day?!?!?! my daughter isnt gaining an exessive amount of weight (about a pound per month) she doesnt have any health issues. i dont want her to become overweight how else can i cut back? do you think i should?

Tell mil to back off. If your doctor says she is okay, and you are responding to how you feel your daughter is growing and what she needs, you don't have to explain it to anyone else. Not feed your daughter at all, is the lady crazy? That will dehydrate her and cause all sorts of other problems. I wouldn't let her near my kid personally. Kids do not know how to overeat at this age, their bodies regulate it, she is eating what she needs to. Every baby is different. I hope it gets better for you. My doc says my 2 month old is healthy and eating as much as he should be and he weighs almost 15 lbs.

think of babies like puppies. the more they eat now, the less likely they are to overeat as they get older. follow your doc's orders, and if your mil won't back off give her the number of your doc and tell her, "we are following a professional's opinion. if you believe he is in the wrong, call and discuss it with him." which, because of the new privacy laws, they will tell her she has no business concerning your daughter. when she tells you this, smile sweetly and say,"exactly!"
