i have another post on this site but i now have a ? about my health. i am 18 and gave birth to a terminally ill baby a year ago- the end of july. i had alot of problems with my blood pressure during labor to where they were afraid i was gonna pass- as well as my baby. they had me on magnessium or how ever you spell it for the second time ( i had went into preterm labor 3 weeks b4 and was on it for about 5 hours then went home with meds.) for about 5 days. after about 7 weeks i got my period- around mid sept. then oct i got it on time. novemebers came 2 weeks late. so i got it about the beginnning of dec. (i had took 2 htps to see if i was preg and they were both negative) then i never got it in jan and took another test- negative. and then finally 2 months later i got it in the beginning of feb. since then i havent had it. i have gone to the ob, and they ran tests and got nothing i told them i havent had my period in months and they did 3 pregnancy tests and nothing. i dont know what is going on and i wonder is it possible that what my body went through during labor may have effected my cycle or possibly stopped it causeing early menopause? i was never regular before my pregnancy- i had it every other month one time. i didnt get my period till i was 16 and 1/2. if you ahve any suggestions or any info fo rme please help me. i hate to think i will never be able to have another baby when im ready.

Have you lost or gained weight? Have your eating habits changed, have you had a lot of stress, have you been exercising more? These are all possibilities for why you aren't having your period.

i have gained weight since i stopped having them, thats why we thought it may have been a pregnancy but the dr ruled that out. i do have stress but not much. my exercising hasnt changed much- 30 mins workout a day- which has been the same sinc ei gave birth. i do have problems gettin to sleep and stuff like that- which are all symptons of premature menopause. i can understand if a little change could cause me to not have it a month or two but 6 months of not having it and no sign of pregnancy isnt right. but i have no health problems that we have come across.

I don't know if you have good medical coverage but what about seeing a different obgyn and ask for perimonopause(sp)
