If u think its drying up i would start asap. Take it slowly, dont give up as eventually they will take to the bottle. Well done for b___st feeding cause im afraid i didnt last long as my b___sts hurt pretty bad after giving birth, i felt shocking for not doing it but persist with it, they may wonder what the heck it is at first but offer the bottle as often as possible so they can get used to it, it didnt happen to me but thats what i would do, just keep persisting cause now or later u have to stop b___st feeding eventually

Why do you think your milk is drying up? It will automatically adjust to the amount your baby needs; if he's still acting hungry, or nursing longer than normal, it may just be a growth spurt. If you're having issues pumping, remember that pumps are not as efficient as babies. Also, you can try herbal supplements to increase your milk - blessed thistle and fenugreek both work really well. Also, increase the amount of water you drink.

Hi Jamie, I feel like I've never engorged like before and when my baby sucking, I don't really hear him gulping. But he looked content and don't seem to starve. I try to hang on and give him the b___stmilk, maybe I just worry too much.

Honestly, it sounds like you're worrying too much...as long as your baby is gaining weight, then it's all good! I've gone down several cup sizes since my girl was born and I'm only engorged if she sleeps through a normal nursing time. If you watch your son's neck, just behind his ear, you will see it move as he swallows, even if you can't hear him anymore. 8^) I really do hope that you're just being a paranoid mama!!!

I had the same problem with my second child. One of the pediatrician's that I had at that time told me that when your baby gets hungry enough, she'll take a bottle. In my own opinion, I felt I couldn't do that to her, or should I say I wouldn't do that to her. I finally broke down and bought "Mother's Milk Tea" (I really hate tea) and drank that. It has a combined ingredients of herbs. It certainly helped. I ended up nursing her for 9 months.

It sounds like everything is really OK. Once your supply and demand get properly regulated you rarely feel uncomfortable. If you really feel that you need to boost production (maybe for a growth spurt or just for your peace of mind) go to bed for a day with your baby. Just eat well drink lots of water and get some rest. Sometimes it's good just to take a day off from other responsibilities. Relax and enjoy!
