morning everyone! Lesley i have sympathy with the double buggy thing, i only have a single one but often get stuck in shops as free standing displays are too close together, how you push round a double one??? ive seen those cool double ones where each child sits behind in a line instead of site by side. Shannon I thought i might have thrush when the first set of antibiotics didnt work so i googled my symtoms, red sore painfull to touch nipples, stabing pains in b___st, and it said thrush, my midwife confirmed it, i now have cream, im off to b___stfeeding support group this afternnoon (sit around with tea and biscuits chat to other mums) and a midwife is there to help with feeding, i recomend this if you have a group near you. Shannon wow your milk sounds lots, my friend said she had same as you, mine never leaks, sometimes i wish it would, it must mean you have lots, Im trying to pump everyday and feed Jasmin a little in bottle so she gets used to it, incase im ill or have to go somewhere/back to work, also ive steralised an ice cube tray and have bought some freezer bags to put the cubes in, i noticed i should buy sterilised bags but there really expensive so im just going to soak them in milton solution, surely thats good enough??? How are Mary and Ranya??? Ca__sie please go tell the women who says theres favoritism on this site, she says noone answers questions!!!

the problem with the tandem style is the heavier kid is at the front, which meakes it heavy to get up kerbs and so on. I have only used my double one once and doubt I will ever use it again. What a waste of money! I will shove it on ebay and sell it. Everything is clean, practacle brand new, has rain cover and foot muffs. I might start using it if I'm going local places that doesn't involve me walking. I can't fit it through my back door, so need to put the kids in outside, which isn't an option when it's raining or freezing.

my last post made no sense! I mean I might use it where it only involves me walking, not having to use public transport haha.

It's good that you are making new friends Lisa :-). When my midwife comes out next she is bringing a list of parent and toddler groups and parent groups I can go to to meet new people and get me out the house.

Seems like everyone was busy eating turkey yesterday :) Lesley, how's your mom? I hope her case is mild and she cann control it through diet and exercise. Lisa, it's great you are meeting other women through your b___stfeeding group. I went to Zein's doc yesterday so she can get her hepat_tis B vaccine (I live in a third world country and this whole debate on whether to innoculate or not is not for me!) and I told him about my experience with BF and the baby having colics etc...it turns out that I'm not supposed to eat chocolate (among other things) because it gives the baby major gas. He also told me not to keep her more than 20 minutes on each b___st in order to avoid blisters (and resentment)...what do the lactation specialists tell you guys? Also overfeeding will increase the colics. Shannon, wow, I don't have that problem and until yesterday I was questioning the quality and quant_ty of my milk but luckily the doc measured her yesterday and she's put on weight and grown in a satisfactory manner, thank God! Hope everyone has a nice weekend! What's your favorite moment with your baby? I love when she's just waking up in the morning...she spends about 10 minutes stretching and making very funny faces, it's too adorable! Also as horrible as this sounds, but I love the lower lip when she's just about to cry (I know very evil :( )

She has been put through for more tests. Should find out soon what is wrong with her. It is so bloody cold here. I put Ben in with me last night. The poor bairn was freezing. He had a vest, sleepsuit and a blanket. The blanket was folded so it's like he had 2. I have had my heating on contantly for 2 weeks but it's still cold. It doesn't help everyone keeping the doors wide open like! and John stands at the back door to smoke and leaves the pa__sage door open too. I go mad with him. I tell him to go outside to smoke and close the back door but he doesnt. I think I'm gonna have a go at him again about it. LOL!!

morning girls, Ranya which country do you you live in? my dh is from nepal, we lived out there on and off for two years, he wants to live there instead of uk, but i dont think we could live off his wage and i worry about sanitation/illness living in third world country for Jasmin. Jasmin has been funny when feeding, she keeps squirming pulling at my nipple, moaning little high pitched cry and lkicking her legs, i try wind her but she wants to go back on, im thinking mabie colic? Lesley, i ended up with Jasmin in with me too she fed at 5 then wouldnt go back down, i couldnt be bothered in the end so let her stay with me. Ive just been invited to a friends house and might go later to the city to buy Jasmin a winter dress, she looks so cute in dresses.

I'm from & live in Cairo, Egypt. Sounds like Jaz might be starting to have colics, they really suck! Living in a 3rd world country is not easy especially if you're not making good money. What's Nepal like? Mom says it's beautiful, she went there a few years ago.

wel... it seems like a bad time for all us October mummies. I am in the process of packing my partners stuff and throwing him out. I have had enough c___p from him. I am expecting a scene so called my uncle for back up

Wow, a lot has been going on. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Ranya, thanks for the info on chocolate. I guess that whats making my little one so fussy (heck, if I had to give up coffee and sodas, I thought I could still have chocolate, silly me) As far as nursing goes, my pediatrician (when he made his intial visit in the hospital) told me not to try and nurse the baby for longer than 20 minutes on one b___st. He said aside from hurting and frustrating me, it aggravates the baby just as well. The lactation nurse on the other hand was the complete opposite. She told me to nurse as long as the baby wants, and if it hurts than I am not doing it right. In so many words, I told her she was a crack pot and that I nursed my other 2 kids so I think I have got the hang of it, which she refused to believe. To get her off my back, I told her I was just going to formula feed instead. She was just to asinine for words. It's like some of these fools on this site that would rather preach than offer advice. Sorry, I got caught up in one of the threads and some people are just idiotic.

I know where you ladies are coming from on the subject of dh's. I've been seconds away from letting my old man have it. I am sick and tired of his antics. With 2 toddlers and a newborn, it's enough to drive a person crazy. Lesley and Mary, I understand. At times, I just want to quit, but for the sake of my kids, I can't. I was diagnosed with PPD after my last child and it sucked. I'm doing everything I can to stay positive, but frustration, and sleep deprivation don't help. Does anyone else feel this way? It's also getting to the point I'm having to force myself to eat (especially to keep milk production up). Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Ranya - November 25

Lesley, are you ok? What happened? Hope all is well at your end, please let us know how you are doing and we're here for you! JB, you're definitely not alone, I'm only caring for one infant, I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through! I think sleep deprivation makes us all very nervous, irritable, and critical I guess. I wonder every other day if I don't have PPD, but I try to keep positive. Some days are definitely easier than others. I don't have to force myself to eat but sometimes I don't find the time and I haven't been cooking since I gave birth so dh are either ordering in or just eating sandwiches...I know, not very healthy but I can't be bothered. JB, how was your Thanksgiving?

lisa - November 26

hey mary, sounds simple, mabie ll try that when dh comes back, its hardthough as i feel he should be trying more not me!!!

lisa - November 26

lesley, saw you on another post about bens hearing, hows it going? Jasmin is most content when theres noise, but she jumps if someone slams the front door, have you tried that? mabie he is just super chilled

Ranya - November 27

Lisa, sounds like you are doing great (knock on wood) and the more independent you are the better equipped you'll be to make a decision on your future, keep up the positive att_tude :) Regarding colics, these are a few things I've learnt, be careful what you eat and find out what gives your baby gas (other than the obvious like broccoli, cauliflower etc...there's caffeine and chocolate), make sure you burp Jaz regularly to eliminate air bubbles in her system, don't feed her just to calm her down if it's not time for a feed it only makes her digestion worse, and get some Gripe Water (I give her 1/2 tsp after every meal) and if the colics are bad I give her simethicone(enfacol is sold at Mothercare)...other than that you have to learn certain holding techniques that will soother her and apply some pressure on her tummy. Zein likes being across my lap because my knee presses against her belly. Lesley, are you doing ok? Is your dh gone? I too read your post regarding Ben's hearing, I hope he's alright but I've noticed that Zein doesn't respond to all noises equally, have you tried crumpling a plastic grocery bag? Good luck and keep us posted! Mary, sounds like you have things under control that's great! Pendant sounds very nice :) I haven't had time to reflect on PPD, I think I've got the blues, usually a depression for me means panic attacks and not being able to get out of bed, so thankfully I haven't reached that stage! I too am prone to depression :s I have one nipple that is constantly hurting me, I wish b___stfeeding were easier :(
