Did anyone here get pregnant, have hernia problems that needed surgery right away, and br___tfeed? strange question, i know, but i was born with an umbilical hernia. i've had surgery three times and it still gives me problems. my ob/gyn said now that i'm pregnant (2 months) it'll only get worse and right after delivery i'll have to go right to surgery to repair it (temporarily till i get preg. again). i'm just wondering if any other moms were ever in the same boat and if so, could you still br___tfeed? i want to so badly, and don't know if i'll be able to with surgery and all.

I had surgery during my pregnancy and am b___stfeeding. Totally different I know. There is a woman on here who posts named Shelly. She just had surgery post pregnancy for her gall bladder, and she was b___stfeeding and supplementing. Unfortunately, her supply has diminished. You might want to find her and ask her. She will have good advice and encouragement I am sure. Good luck with your pregnancy and I am sorry you are going through this!

I really do not know.I had to take meds for about 10 weeks till I got my surgery. That is a long time,in the mean time I was pumping and throwing the first milk away b/c that one contained meds.My milksupply did go down and I had to supplement with formula. After my surgery (last week tuesday) I had been in a lot of pain, could hardly pump and my milk is almost gone.I am pumping like crazy but I don't think I will get it back.My situation is different than yours.Best thing to do is talking with your doctor.Good luck with everything!!!!
