my son is a month old and every since my br___t infection which i had to takes meds for every once in a while it looks like slimy little specks of blood in his poo. i have called his doc about this and they said as long as his poo was not black then is was not from the inside. they said it was probably from him pushing when he poops. it is not alot of blood but it seems like everytime it is going away it happens again. i am no longer on meds and i put desitine on his butt at every changing. also i mainly br___tfeed but he does get a bottle or 2 a day because he is a piggy and the bottles really make him happy... anyhow any one have any suggs....thank you!

They are correct as this happened to me when I was pregnant. The inside of a__s is full of blood vessels and capillaries that can easily burst if there is too much pressure. I would add a couple ounces of water to his diet to loosen his stools. He may be constipated from the formula and the extra iron he is getting.

thank you!!! i was really scared at first... at this stage everything seems to scare me. lol do you think the formula is doig it?

It could be the formula bc it has extra iron. One month olds are still getting used to pooping and their systems are not to be relied on. Adding some water, a little bit at each feeding, may make this go away. Keep in mind that whatever vessel burst will take a while to heal and will still draw some blood when he has a hard stool. I thought I was dying of colon cancer when it happened to me. They always say to "freak out" if you see blood in your poop, so I did. I was hysterical.
