I have been getting menstrual like cramps the past couple of days and due in two weeks. Do you think it is a sign labor is about to start, or do you think it could still be weeks. Last I checked I am 50% effaced and only a fingertip.

Hi Allison. I am 37 1/2 weeks, and 50% effaced, about 1 cm. I've been getting those cramps 3-5 times a day, and my doc told me they are what is causing the progress. She said it doesn't necessarily mean I'll have the baby in the next week, but it is a good sign. Good luck!
