Has anyone had, or known someone that has had, placenta accreta and how was your labor and delivery? I'm only in my first trimester, but my dr is worried that the little guy has attached itself to my uterus wall, and the placenta may attach there causing placenta accreta. At this point, we can only watch how the pregnancy progresses and wait and see. But I was just wondering if anyone else had been through it. Thanks!!

i was 16 when i had my daughter, i am now 26. my pregnancy was perfect, no problems. labor and delivery went perfect as well. unfortunately, i started to hemorrhage. i was packed with gauze, and ice to get the bleeding to stop. that method failed. i was given a total blood transfusion, and a d.n.c. (with no anesthesia) that didn't work either. i died twice. i had to have an emergency hysterectomy. now having said that, as i stated before, i had no signs of this during my pregnancy. if your doctor is aware that there is a possible problem, more than likely they will do a c-section to try and save the uterus. i was told that this happens more to women who became pregnant later in life, or have had multiple pregnancies....guess i am a fluke of nature. don't worry. like i said before, they are aware that there is a potential problem. you most likely will be put on bed rest, and have to have a c-section. i have coped with it really well believe it or not, because, i am blessed to be alive, and be able to raise my daughter. don't stress your self.....and good luck.
