Why A C Section

I am ttc, and I was wondering what are the different reasons women have to have c-sections? I have never had a child, and I am just curious.

I am not too sure but this is what I think as I am expecting my 1st baby as well. If the baby is in breech position. If you are not dilating. If the baby is premature i.e. before 36 weeks..If the women carrying the baby is too old + have any medical condition. These are some of the reasons to go for c-section. Hope this helps

I had two c-sections. My first baby was breech, the doctor could have tried to move her, but I didn't want him to chance it, it was the best experience I had having a section. My second baby was having fetal distress his heart rate fell everytime I had a contraction and took too long to get up. It was the worst section I ever had I had a spinal tap and it gave me a spinal headache. I had an epideral with my first born and it was great.

I have been following the different types of births, before I get pregnant I want to be fully aware of either a c-section,or natural. If you look up c-sections they give a list of reasons, breech, high blood pressure, cord pro-lapse,also for me it would be because I have a fear of natural childbirth, the though of stretching and knowing you just keep going fills me with dread.

I just had a section and it was wonderful,I'd opt for this method every time.its like going to the dentist to have wisdom teeth removed, you feel a bit scared don't want it to happen because you know afterwards there will be pain, when you are having the operation you don't feel a thing, but with a bay its exciting, when the pain comes its like a hot throb, but the pain meds is great,I loved a section so much.

I dont think anyone should fear natural childbirth, I was only 18 when I gave birth to my first son and I was soo happy because I was the first women in my family to deliver v____ally. It is soo wonderful to actually lay there and watch this life come out of you. I know alot of women have to have C-Sections because of breech babies, stubborn cervix, abruptio placentia, knot in the cord or cord is wrapped around the babies neck, as far as high blood pressure and prematture labor, it only if you cant dialate from labor or from being induced.

I had a 2st natural,no way was I going to do that again, and it was rubbish that after the terible pain where I thought I'd just rip open, was all gone when baby came..no I was in agony for ages after. Now the section, much better, know when its happening, joke with the doctors, wide awake when my baby 1st came into the world, without a feeling of pain at all.The pain afterwards was nothing like natural,it was fine with the meds.

I had a C section after 27 hours labour at home and only got to 5cm dilated. Bubs was in distress. It was a releaf by that stage. What hit me was how sore and for how long afterwards I was. The section went well, never felt a thing - hubby watched the whole thing and was telling me what was happening. I heard my little boy cry first of all - that made up for the long 9 month wait and the labour.

kim how long were you sore afterwards?I remember getting out of bed, with nurses help, said I was sore,so they gave me more meds, felt not too bad at all, certainly better than the v____al birth.

I'm with you Marcie. However,I was more aprehensive about a section, thinking its an operation, and the problems that can stem from it,but going to cla__ses,them saying to open your mouth, this is how it feels, only its obviously greater than that, because there is so much pressure, and sometimes tearing, anywayI got into such a state I elected a section,my God,how wonderful,as you say I enjoyed the birth, and the recovery was better than some people I met at cla__ses who went natural. It was still fresh in their minds, and said it was worse than they expected.I'm sure over a few mths they'll forget, but I loved it.

I'm with nicole and marcie, just look at my other post on this subject.I loved my section, more controlled, the pain afterwards was fine, with meds, just took it easy thats all,and I was happy with that.Anyone who fears natural birth, honestly a section, well for me anyway, was well worth it.

when I found out I was going to have a section,I was scared, but it was actually better than expected and out of my 3 births was the best.
