Wrong Due Date

So I am beginning to wonder if they have the wrong due date for me. If you go by my menstrual period I would be due the 2nd wk in october (meaning I would be 37wks right now) but they did my first ultrasound at 16wks and gave me Nov 2nd (putting me at 35wks) and then I had a 2nd ultrasound done and that gave me Oct 30th only 4 days different but I am measuring 37wks right now, anyone know what is more accurate? I really do not want to go past nov 2nd if I should be due in the middle of oct.

must be really frustraighting not knowing, my period would put me 24th oct scan says 22nd so i guess im lucky, why not ask for another ultrasound say its really worrying you, or pay £70 for a private one I would just to know, but if you and husband are small then mabie your baby was just small at 2nd scan and really is due mid oct, i would aim for around same time as me, then it will be a bonus if your baby comes soon and not too far if its late

I know how you feel, my lmp means i'd be due something like 13th oct and the scan said 25th oct. The scan is much more accurate and the one to go by as sometimes menstrual cycles aren't all that regular, even if they are usually, you could hav one bad month. I actually concieved over a week after i was meant to hav ovulated. Don't worry they know what they're doing, and wouldn't put you and your baby in any danger.

The 16 wk u/s would be more accurate in determining your EDD than the later scans. Your baby will come when s/he is good and ready. Stick with the later EDD of Nov 2nd, that way you won't be disappointed. Tummy measurements are guestimates only, lots of things can determine height in cms' such as position of baby, whether baby has dropped into the pelvis and how much fluid you're carrying. G'luck!

The earlier you have your ultrasound, the more accurate it is.My first one was at 20 weeks and it matched up with my original due date, but my second one i had at 36 weeks gave me a due date of sept. 19th (instead of the 29th) the later ultrasounds really just mean the baby is bigger or smaller than the average... but the early ones i believe are accurate. I'm 99.9% sure my due date is actually the 29th, and my first ultrasound (at 20 wks) said the 29th. So yours at 16 weeks is probably right

Oh, and p.s. the ultrasound i had at 36 weeks that said sept. 19th, well, its september 27th, and still no baby. So hopefully that helps you

I was told that my due date was the end of April (last year... baby's already here!). My first U/S gave the due date at the end of May. I argued the point... we were on a cruise vacation for three weeks and I did NOT have a period during that time. According to them, I would have had a period right in the middle of my vacation. There answer for the ultrasound due dating was "all embryos develope at the same rate and size until the 12th week or so". At the end of my pregnancy, I was having blood pressure issues and they decided to induce me 3 weeks early on May 3rd. Technically, I had a premature baby (7 lbs. 10 ozs - 20 3/4" long!), but I always thought his real due date was still the end of April. I beleive they really aren't positive sometimes and just get in the ball park with due dates - two weeks either early or later than the date they pick is still considered "on time"... that's a lot of leeway!

Thank you ladies soo much, Im just very concerned seen as if I go to my latest EDD and it is wrong that could already be 42wks for me and what if they make me go longer than that, I might have a still born. My period as always been regular, as I was on birth control and stopped taking it to get pregnant. With my first son I had 3 EDD, one with my mentrual period, and 2 ultrasounds but they were all within 5 days (the 7th, 10th and the 12th) and I gave birth on the 14th. Im not sure if my doctor will do an ultrasound and if I want to pay for one they are $150-300. The only reason why this is really concerning me is ive already lost my mucus plug about 2wks ago and I have had to have my labor stopped twice already because they said I wasnt "far enough along"
