I am in the same predictament as you two. I am nearly 39 weeks and I just lost what I know must be the rest of my mucous plug because i am seeing streaks of blood. My contractions are very close together but not tight at all. I mean not even close to severe like with my first. I am so confused and I am not sure what to do and i dont want to go prancing in to l & d over nothing.

I'm only 17 weeks and had a big clear glob of jelly like discharge. I've never had anything like that before and I'm just wondering if this is part of my mucus plug or what? Or if it's something to be concered about. Of course I will ask my doc. about it.

Hi all, Great to see so many women with the same comments. It's really rea__surring. I'm now just over 41 weeks and have an induction scheduled to start on the 27th to bring the baby on hopefully the 28th. I have been feeling a bit queezy for a couple of days, have had backaches for the first time throughout the pregnancy, a mild headache and lost my mucus plug this morning. I thought that was a sign of it starting but reading your comments maybe not..I just hope baby decides to make an appearance before the induction! Good luck to you all!

Wow I am also 38 weeks, 2 days and I think I lost some of my mucus plug a little while ago. It was not as much as I expected, but is sure wasn't the same as the discharge I have been experiencing all trimester. I read that alot of you are in week 20-something and think that you have lost your mucus plug. I really think that it might just be that you are experiencing heavy discharge and you are not used to it. The plug is way different from discharge because it is a bigger clump and a snotty/jelly texture. You might not even notice it when it comes because mine was on the toilet paper when I wiped and I could have easily missed it if I didn't check.

hello, i just found out i am pregnant on thanksgiving day. my doc thought i was about 5 weeks but i am only about 2 weeks, i started having light bleeding which led in to a browinsh color and it stopped after 4 days. but today i had alot of yellowish/orangish mucus, not like discharge, i was wondering if any of you ladies had been through this in your early weeks of pregnancy. thanks

To Victoria- I didnt think you could find out that early... like 2 weeks?? It goes from your last period. Women normally conceive about 10 days after there last period.. Trust what your doc says.

With my first child I was 2cm dilated for three weeks before I went into labor. I was playing a board game with some friends, felt an urge to go to the bathroom, and when I got to the bathroom I was unable to pee, but I noticed a thick mucussy type substance on my underwear. I came out and informed my friend of what I saw, she asked if I was having contractions, I said "yes" but had determined they were noraml braxton-hicks because there was no pain. We called my pract_tiioner when we discovered my "braxton-hicks" were two to five minutes apart, consistantly, for half an hour and she said I may have lost my mucous plug and asked me to come into the hospital.....9 hrs later I had a beautiful baby girl.
