Two days ago I went into the hospital because i was feeling pressure on my pelvis and contractions, well they hooked me up to a machine and my contractions were 3-4 minutes apart. They werent painful, just gave me a lot of pressure. Im only 31 weeks, anyways They gave me brethine I think its called and it stopped the contractions and what not. They did an exam and my cervix wasnt opened at all, I didnt leak any fluid. They kept me overnight for observation and I was okay, but they still cant figure out what caused me to go into labor. Does anyone know if this means that its likely that i wont carry to term? or anything about this? any info would help, thanks.

I'm 36 weeks now and was put to rest at 32 weeks because I was getting too many contractions in a hour (4 or more) but I was already fingertip dilated at the time. If your'e worry you should ask your doctor if you should be put to bedrest to be on the safe side. I was on bedrest up until now. I'm still taking it easy even though I made it to full term, which is this Sat. :) Now I'm just waiting for this baby to come out. good luck

I was put on bedrest at 32 weeks due to early dialation and effacement. I was 2 cm's dialated and 50% effaced. I'm now approaching week 38 of my pregnancy and everything is fine. They told me that my contractions were caused from dehydration. They said that's the pain of a summer pregnancy, it does'nt take long to dehydrate.

with my first pregnancy I went into labor 7 weeks before my due date.....I had contractions every minute, they stopped them with medications and I was on bedrest there after.....About 3 weeks before my due date at a routine check up the doctor said we would have to induce my labor now cuz the baby was growing too big....I was induced 2 weeks before my due date.

I started bleeding with my 1st and went to the hospital. I was having contractions every 2-3 mins and didn't know it plus I was dialated 2cm, got a shot to stop it and then carried full term and had to be induced. So I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to keep him/her in. I would also recomend the bedrest that's what my doc had me do, even though it is really tough to do. Good Luck!

Well if this isnt wierd, lol. I just got home from staying the night at the hospital. I was also having contractions every 3 mins, but they were completly painless, just alot of pressure and tightening, which was wierd. But they had me on the monitors and IV over night and then I was sent home to strict bedrest with some pills, that I have to take every 12 hours. I was only 1cm dialated. But then right after I get home I get a call from the nurse saying I have to come back in on friday to take the 3hr glucose test because I had a really high sugar level. Im worried now that I might have GD.
