What DID Put You Into Labor

I've tried Castor Oil a couple times. I came up with a great way to take the Castor Oil if you can't stomach the texture or taste. (When I'm pregnant, I can't.) I went to Dairy Queen and got a Moolatte and mixed it in. I got a large Moolatte and mixed in about 2 oz of Castor oil. I used to work at Dairy Queen and I didn't notice even the slightest change in taste or texture. Plus, that dairy will help the Castor Oil work faster. Yummy! I tried it in Orange Juice... nasty! I tried it in Dr. Pepper. In anything thin to drink, it just settles on the top faster than you can stir or shake, but with the Moolatte (iced coffee drink) it mixes in extremely well and didn't change taste or texture. :D

With my first son, I was really inactive for most of the pregnancy. And then one day about a week before he was due, I had a ton of energy, so I wound up walking around and around. I ended up walking six miles that day, just because I was home and bored. About four hours later, I was in labor. Good strong labor for about two hours, and then ten minutes of pushing. So far... nothing has worked with this little one, and I'm a week overdue.

My friend was a few days over her dd, and she drank some castor oil (just a tablespoon worth) and went into labour that night, she swears it worked but im sceptical, her baby was probably going to come then regardless!

Well, first of all, it's timing and your body's natural way of saying your ready, that's going to put you into labor. You could always say that what you did last was what did it, and that could be true. But just let it come. For me, I do believe s_x and lots and lots of walking do it. I walked around a mall for 6 hours before I went into labor and had s_x the last couple nights before that. Do lots of walking!!!!

singlem0m the question your have asked is impossible to answer. Everybody has told you what put them into labour and what didn't but the fact of the matter is that EVERY single person is different, just as every labour is different and so is everychild. Some people get it easy with their 1 1/2 hr labour (d__n some people get it easy) and for others its a long hike (i was in active labour for 3 1/2 days) From what i have whitnessed through my own birth and those of the people around me, the best thing you can do is do everything you need to do to enable you to be completely relaxed. That baby isn't gonna come til both of you are ready (i think my son was waiting for his father who arrived just as i became fully dialated). I know you must be itching to see your baby but don't hurry it. Do a few nice things for yourself while you still can and SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!

Try a cup of coffee with 2 teaspoons of pepper in it. Some friends of mine have said this works!

BBQ chicken sandwich from KFC. That is what did it for me. its not really spicy but has a slight pinch to it.

This is my second pregnancy, and I am only 28 weeks, but with my first baby, I tried everything includling castor oil, and nothing worked. I ended up being induced 12 days after dd and was in labor for 24 hours with only a 0.5cm dilation the entire time. I ended up having to have a c-section. was not fun.

Girl, I tried a number of things. I was due in 5 days. On a Saturday morning I went to the doctor and he stripped my membranes. I was dilated 1 cm and dd still hadn't dropped. I had pasta with a spicy red sauce and I added more hot peppers. Then at night I went walking around Walmart and then had s_x before going to bed. My water broke at 3:30am. Technically Pitocon put me into labor cause I wasn't having contractions, but I'd like to think soemthing I did that day helped my water to break.

bbq sandwich did it for me as I said up above, but.. I was in labor for 58 hours. finally got to 10, pushed for 3 hours, my son wasn't coming out that way (after all that, I can't ever have a baby v____ally cause my pelvis is too small). I had to have a c-section after that... I think I did lots of walking the day before..

I tried walking, cohoshes, bromelain, lots of s_x (the LAST thing I wanted to do), spicy food, raspberry leaf tea, acupressure, and probably some other things I can't even remember now. Didn't try castor oil because it sounded so nasty. I was desperate because if I didn't go into labor in a few days they were going to induce me. Well they induced me: cytotec finally put me into labor, and it took seven doses over four days!!!! Apparently I had scarring on my cervix from a conal biopsy a decade ago, and the scar tissue DID NOT want to stretch. My friend had the same problem, was induced with pitocin only and wound up with a c section. I was scared of the cytotec but was grateful afterwards.

With everyone different things will work. I can see why the test the did on s_x came up that it was nothing more then a wives tale..Honestly how many people are going to be able to enjoy themselves when they kno that they are just part of testing. For s_x to work the most effectively, both of the partners taking part must have an orgasm. My boyfriend was one of those guys that as soon i had become the slightest bit dilated, without being in labor even, said he was gonna poke the baby in the head or soemthing. So for me, walking seems to be doing the trick. I havn't had my baby yet, or even gone into labor, but it has helped to put the baby in the right position, and since i've started walking more, i have become more dilated.
