7 Weeks No Heart Beat

I went in for my first prenatal visit yesterday. My doctor did an ultrasound and showed us the gestational sack, yolk sack and fetal pole, but didn't see a heart beat. I am 7 weeks pregnant, for the second time. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I'm a bit concerned and confused why the doctor did not do any blood tests. We are scheduled for another ultrasound next week. I don't want to give up hope just yet, but we're really scared.

Hi!! I am going through the same thing, had an ultrasound on 1/12 I am 8 weeks pregnant, the baby is measuring 6 to 7 weeks, gestational sack, yolk sack and fetal pole seen but no heart beat. the Doc was not going to order blood work for me either, just another ultrasound next week. I told him I could not wait a week and requested blood work to be done. I have my second set of bloods drawn tomorrow. I have heard from several people that they didnt hear their babys heart beat till 8 - 9 weeks. has anyone ever been sure of there dates and when the ultra sound was done showed a baby less gestional weeks than thought ? Mischelle my thoughts and prayers are with you. you might want to call your doctor and request hcg levels to be drawn. good luck!!!

I had my ultrasound today. My doctor called me three hours later to tell that this pregnancy is not progressing. She asked me what I wanted to do next. I told her I wanted another u/a next week. She agreed but said that she would go ahead and schedule the d/c for the following day. I hope and pray the rest of you have happier news.

well here is my update, I had my second set of bloods drawn showing a small decrease in the hcg levels and I had my follow up ultra sound showing the baby was not growing. Now I have to deciede if I want to go for a d&c. I have had no bleeding just alot of cramping and contractions. Alls I can say is it has been the longest week of my life. But now that I know for sure what is happening I feel a little less stressed. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.

The first ultrasound I had I was like 13 weeks and I heard the heartbeat, saw the heartbeat and the baby, and got great pictures. Good luck, let us know what happens!
