AFP And Fluid In The Kidney

We just had our 18 week survey. In addition to an abnormal AFP result they found fluid in the kidneys. Our choices are amnio to rule out Downs syndrome or waiting until I deliver. Has this happened to anyone else?

i didn't get the blood tests done but on my u/s they said that my baby had dilated kidneys. i was sent for another u/s and they found a spot on her heart. so i have a 1% chance that my baby has downs. i declined the amnio. so i have to wait until my little one is born.

i am now 29 weeks. i have another u/s booked for may 16 to see if anything cleared up on it's own.
