Closing The Cervix With Surgery

My Doctor has put me on 100% bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy, i am currently 25 weeks pregnant and apparently my cervix is dialating a lil bit, but the baby is perfectly fine in everyway. She has told me she wants to do surgery today and close up my cervix, some specific surgery, leave it to me to forget the name. Has anyone had this done to them, with good outcome? I am pretty nervous, first time mom, and never been in any "surgery" before....

Hi Amber, I guess you're talking about a cerclage. I had one with my first son when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I was also put on bedrest around 25 weeks. Besides being bored, everything else was uneventful. My son was born about 8 hours after the doctor took my st_tch out (at 36 weeks) and he's perfectly healthy. I'm pregnant with my 2nd and have already had my cerclage put in. Don't worry about the surgery. It's very quick. Without it, I would never be able to go to term with any pregnancy. Good luck
