I am 14 wks pregnant & was diagnosed with several fibroids inside and outside of uterus that cause pain when sitting. Has anyone had this problem? I'm wondering if anything can be done or what others have gone thru with this problem.

I have two fibroids that cause me a great deal of pain and discomfort. Being 13wks pregnant has put strain on it also. Last week friday I was sent to Emergency (thats when the pain started) and I suddenly started to bleed heavily. Luckily, the fibroid caused the bleeding and there was no tissue, it stopped bleeding later that day. I was put on bed-rest and was told to come my Dr's office first thing Monday. One of the doctors said that I might miscarry due to the location of one of the smaller fibroid... the placentea may have a hard time trying to properly locate and cause abruption. My doctor gave me pain medication (I will only take them at night to sleep). Also, I will be seeing a specialist in about 3 weeks. For some reason this specialist will only see you if your are 16 - 20 weeks. I have been reading on the net everything I can about fibroids and pregnancy... but there is not much information on how to deal with the pain and discomfort. I just hope that I continue with my pregnancy (it is my first) to term without anymore complications. I will deal with the pain if thats the case! Also, because of the pain I am no longer working. I do know that fibroids are common, my mother, two of my sister-in-laws, my best friend have all had them. During pregnancy, nothing can be done about them. One of my doctors did tell me that if there were to be any problems with my pregnancy (like a miscarry), they will remove the fibroids before I can get pregnant again. I'm 38 and don't know if I want to wait any longer to have children.

I just found out I have a fibroid that is 4 inches in diameter. Is that small or large or medium for fibroid. There does not seem to be a lot of information on fibroids out there. I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I'm scared, I've had pressure in my belly and lower back pain but no bleeding as of yet, does that mean that I still can start bleeding later on?
