Fluctuating HCG Levels

I have no idea what is going on in my body right now and neither do the Doctors. Last month I had what we thought at the time was a miscarriage. My hCG level was 29, then 26 two days later, accompanied by spotting. Two days after that, I experienced extremely painful and very heavy bleeding. All assumed that I miscarried and I was told that we would need to follow the hcg levels until they reached 0. I did not go in for another two weeks (oops!). When I did go back, the level was up to 60. I had some lower back pain and a few days of spotting. Two days later, the level was at 40. Today I had to leave work because I started cramping and bleeding and got quite dizzy. I have had two ultrasounds throughout this and they have shown nothing- at all. What is going on? Endometriosis runs rampantly in my family, along with a plethora of cancers. I have had one prior full-term pregnancy and one miscarriage.I am only 24 years old. I was also suffering from some pain in my lower right area of what I would assume to be an ovary about a month before this and my periods had started to be spaced only three weeks apart for several months.

Have your doctors ruled out an ectopic?
