Just wondering? Anyone TRYING to get pregnant after age 40? How is everyone reacting when you tell them?

I have, and didn't tell anyone (turning 45); I lost the baby, but my dr. has been positive. My plan was really to wait until the 12 week mark to tell anyone (except my husband, of course!). This was the right decision for me. Lots of people have babies over 40, healthy ones!

Dear chris, If you are 40 or over... and choose to have a baby.. it shouldn't matter what any one feels or thinks. What matters is how you feel about it. Best wishes.

I am not trying...I am pregnant and I am 43. This will be my fifth pregnancy. My last baby was 15 yrs ago. As far as what people are saying to me is that they are scaring the heck out of me. I am defiant with my responses, so eventually I receive support. Presently I am in my15th week and feeling the toll no less than any of my previous pregnancies!

Wow, thanks guys. When we had an unexpected pregnancy a month ago and then m/c, my dh and I decided we really did want a baby. But people really have made me feel like I was crazy to want a baby at my age! Thanks for the encouragement:)

I'm pregnant at 39 (will be 40 when I deliver). I haven't told anyone except my husband yet either. I am a bit worried about peoples' responses -- I had my son 10 years ago and really thought we were "done." It feels strange to start all over again.

Well, I just found out I'm pregnant. DH and I told just the kids and 1 friend. I'm afraid to tell anyone else, because I had a m/c a few years ago and everyone seemed to think "it was for the best". Let me know if things are going well in your pregnancies. I just feel as if this little guy won't make it because of my age.

We were not trying, but we are 9 weeks pregnant. I am 43 and our only daughter is going to be a 10 yr old big sister. I have gotten lots of congratulations, that's great, it's great to hear some good news for a change, and a few, "Was this planned?" I say, "Yes, of course it was planned, but not by us." ;-) Good Luck.

I am not 40 yet, but I say you should go for it. who cares what other people think just as long as you and your husband are happy. Hope you become pregnant soon and wishing you a healthy baby.
